Did you even read the article??? The 2 active TB folks they had found were illegals. Illegals tend not to get screened. As a matter of fact there isn't any screening of anything for illegals as the screening is part of the LEGAL immigration. The other folks are not active, but they are also mostly illegals.
TB is a big problem in Mexico and other 3rd world countries with low emphasis or availability to health care. The drug resistant strain in Mexico will be a hard nut to crack once it gets a real hold in the US thanks to the numbers of illegals bringing it in.

The COMPANY that hired them could have INSISTED that all potential employees go through MEDICAL screening/testing as a requirement prior to hiring!!!!
AND IMHO any company that is putting out food that will be eaten by the public should do so as a matter of POLICY!
Problem is many such places are now CORPORATE owned and medical screen cost money they don't want to spend.
SOOOOO OUR health is less important then MAKING MONEY?

The company is hiring illegals. There is no doubt in my little mind that they knew they were hiring illegals. It is foolish to think that they would then require a potential illegal employee to get a medical screen which would likely get the illegal found much less pay themselves to get the illegal screened.

I hear what your saying. Or at least I THINK i understand you.
And what I'm saying is IMHO this type of thing just isn't right!
I can think of NO JUSTIFICATION that would make it acceptable.

But have no fear, those of us who own stock in that company are able to afford regular TB screenings of our chicken due to our massive payouts. :rolleyes:
I forget who it was, but someone gave me a smartarse 1-liner about an anti-corporate rant I made a while back. I should go dig up that thread and link that article.

What country do you live in? Making money has always been more important here than people's health.
