thats funny.  I think the guy has a highly capable mind, and is as much a patriot as any one american can be, but he missed the target in Iraq completely with his obtuse ego and screwed the nations military over as a result.  His resignation was long overdue and shows the level of incompetence george bush is willing to endure in order to maintain his personal status quo.

Love one of his quotes...

“Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are "known knowns"; there are things we know we know.

We also know there are "known unknowns"; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know.

But there are also "unknown unknowns"; the ones we don't know we don't know."

But he left out...

"And lastly there are the unknown knowns; that is to say, things that are known but didn't know were known such as the inevitability of me getting fired for being too egotistical to realize I make mistakes and failing to own up to them." :rofl

Thought of him just yesterday when my Number 2 in ArmA started chanelling Donnie Darkside himself:

"12 O'clock, Unknown unknown at 500 metres"

Damned realistic game: using all the most up to date pentagon terms.

:D

My favorite Rummy moment...versus a ditzy, female reporter during a media interview:

Reporter:  Mr. Rumsfeld, why is it necessary to use the deadly cluster-bombs in Afghanistan. (As close as I can remember it.)

Rumsfeld: Because there are Al-Qaeda and Taliban operatives on the ground and we're TRYING to KILL them.
