we need to have biger maned guns defending fields because those 37 are hard to aim (i am not saying i cant but i am not very good at it) also for the radar ak ak for high alt so those bombers actualy have something shooting at them the guns i am thinking of are the american 90mm and german 88mm also british 3in(76.3mm):furious

I'll Sign the petition for the High alt guns for bombers over the field, the current ack ack for fighters are deadly enough.... Have you tried to solo pork a Large airfield yet? Even a Mid field will give one plane a run for his money.

Over 7k though, the ack cannot touch you.

We have way to many ack guns on the field already and you want more?! I'm up for different kinds of ack but we need more manned ack and much less auto ack, or just less ack on the field all together to stop ack huggers and actually make them fight instead of diving several thousand feet to run across the field, gain alt, rinse and repeat.

Personally I was delighted when they got rid of the heavy AA at airfields a year or so back. Its just annoying having to keep turning all the time and the crude way the AI works destroys my suspension of disbelief. Now I only have to suffer the stuff near enemy CVs.
Before they beefed up the light AA over airfields there was non stop vulching. I reckon its about right now, enough to be a serious threat, but you have a good chance of making a jabo pass without too much damage if you choose your path over the field wisely.
If you want to stop people ack hugging use the "pizza delivery" tactic. Knock out their radar and then withdraw out of icon range. Send a lone plane back to the field and let him drag a few cons at low alt away from the field towards you. Pounce on them from alt, rinse and repeat.
-
A little off the mark, but I've always thought that the heavy AA at factories could be more numerous instead of just the every two second bam-bam effect, based on what has been documented from WW2.

I was referring to Heavy ack guns, such as the 88MM for the heavy bombers that love to hit fields at 15k+. Give them some type of historic challenge when they enter enemy Radar ring or something similar.
Heh just my opinion

I'm all up for heavy ack at fields.... if you remove the auto acks and make every single gun manned.
-
i think 1 or 2 man-able ack guns per field would be good thing
:aok

I'm not really sure why vulching is a problem in this game for the most part. I see it like this... If 10 planes are circleing above your base unopposed and you decide you want to try and take off from that field and not a field close to it, you pretty much deserve the hoard of planes that your going to get.
