Heck, I guess it's been a few years since I've flown. The addictions been dead and long gone for years. There was a time in my life when saying that would be all but impossible. But I sometimes wonder how the games going, and I even more often wonder about the whereabouts of my old friends and foes in the game, especially my old assassins squaddies/buddies.
Any of the original pilots still here?
Hows the game coming? new maps? Did the realistic gameplay arena make it to fruition? Does drex still suck?
As for me life is trucking along. Different hobbies, same old obsession though. I think that goes w/ my personality.

The MA was split up and it sucks... :( but if you like flying around with 180 people in an arena then your in luck :aok

I still remember you :). Not to many on from when you used to play. I actually just came back from a long break as well.
Drex, Levi, Nath, they are all gone as far as I know. I did see Lazs flying around my first day back last month. Citabria/Fester is still around, although I haven't seen him flying this month. No FDBs flying that I know of, nor any AKs that I know (although the squad is still around, just dont recognize the names). I'm sure there are still some folks you know flying, but the game has changed quite a bit since I started (back when you were flying). Pretty much no emphasis on A2A combat any more, "air combat" has pretty much gone the route of Fariz-type missions hitting undefended bases and trying to get a couple vulches before the suckers wise up.
The MA was broken up into 4 arenas (early, mid, and 2 late war) in an attempt to get rid of the anonimity (is that a word?) that was encouraging the land grab Horde Warrior type mentality.... it doesn't appear to have worked.
It can still be fun though, as long as you don't take it too seriously.

EDIT - Regarding your old squaddies, the only one I think is still around is ManeTMP, flying under the handle BLukitty now.

Hey, Reb! Stop back in, you'll still enjoy it.
Let's see....Shane's gone, although he occasionally pokes his head in here....same with Lev, who I suspect appears in shades now and again...Urchin just came back, as you can see....quite a few you'd still recognize, and who will recognize you.

Drex just mentioned in our squad forum that he will probably be dusting off the stick in a couple of months ... something about finishing contruction on a house.
Levi will be back soon, so he says. He has been in the middle of a move for months and said that his gear was all in boxes, but after settling in after the move ... he will be back up.
Nath got the perma-boot.
Good to hear from you hblair ... I miss all the assassins too.

Game is still fun for me . I usually play only weekends though when not tired . I took three years off to play DAoC but now back for good , two years now . Not looking for anything differant , this is my "home" online .
On a side note I can "now" land easily on a high alt base np :rofl hehe .
Hope someday to see you again playing , maybe when your children are all grown up ?

I still remember being an assassin in old WB ACA with the 4 plane set and air starts haha. then AH beta started and everyone migrated over :)

I remember ya Hblair, you Assassins used to rough me up a lot back in the day. I took a long break as well, finding it a lot of fun again though.
I used to fly as Ely, Elysian, now I'm simply known as Furburgr.

Body shop business is going good. Me and my two sons who are now 13 and 11 are into dirt bike riding on the weekends. We'll be going tomorrow. It provides more useful excercise than sitting in my cockpit seat while on long sorties.
Skuzz, I'm a lot uglier nowadays as age has been hitting me hard.

I'm thinking of D/Ling the game and giving her a go, but this machine will prolly need a vid card to be able to hang. I used to keep up with all the new video cards, now I don't know squat, whats a good card, and how much ram will I need?
I was just thinking about the old useless radar debates I was involved in on this board back in the day. :lol That was soooo important to me then. AKSwulfe would never give up! Then lazs would just make me madder. hehe, That's fun to look back on, but man I musta needed a life pretty bad.;) Good times, good times.:)
I'm really considering getting a card so I can fly around a while looking for a fight, lose interest, turn off my computer and go to bed. lol or maybe I won't lose interest. Who knows. My "comebacks" are kinda akin to Mike tysons comebacks after the pen, Kind of a loss of passion.
In the beginning, I would just laugh my head off when I shot people down. My wife thought I was nuts. 4 in the morning she hears me holler "EAT DAT BEE-ATCH!!!!":t :D while slobbering at my monitor "gotta land these kills hun, almost done!!". In my opinion you have to really LOVE killin people to be successful at this game. Knowing that somewhere in the world some poor joker was really MAD as all heck because I shot his pixels down, just really appealed to me.
Anyway, enough drivel. Good to hear from you guys.:)

Get back in the game for a bit. I'm lucky if I can play 3-4 hours a month these days. Just so much going on at home lately.

I remember the dreaded HBlair. Along with the Citabrias, Torques, Hangtimes, Fishu, Mitsus etc of old days gone by.

I am just starting to do some vid card research to replace my 7800GT. Looks like the 8800GT512 is the way to go, but if you want something cheaper I'd look at older nVidia cards.
