Title: Squad Skins

It would be nice to see squad skins on planes and not just squad logo... that way when u r in the air u can identify ur friendly squad or enemy..

Or even yet make the squad logo larger, say on the tail of the plane...

Way to much to display.

think how many players, each skin is 1MB in size (1024x1024 image)

with even 200 squads in AH (there are WAY more than that) that would be 200 unique skins that need to be made, 200 MB each client would have to DL, and 200 MB of images to display on someones PC. Even if there were players from only 20 squads in view at one time thats 20MB of skins to display alone. in a larger furball that number would go up a ton.

also, all of those skins would have to be reviewed by HTC staff and approved for use. you can imagine squads would start trying to sneak in inappropriate things, odd colors, all that.



With HTC requiring all skins now to be historical, this fundamentally change their idea of how the skin system works also.


basically this probably won't happen.

Get in a historical type squad.  Mine is the VF-31 & Greebo made us a skin for our F6F

Yep,  got 2 80th Headhunter 38Gs, 2 Js and 1 L, all historically accurate.

Easy way to get to fly in squadron colors :)
