Post by: fodofire on November 09, 2007, 10:12:25 AM
Hi,
My father gave me an attack throttle that he has had for many years and I can't seem to make it work on my computer with win xp. Is thier a patch or something that I could get it to work?
Thanks:huh

Assuming you have a gameport, analog devices like throttles have always been supported under XP with no patches or extra drivers necessary.

Please describe what "doesn't work" means. Be specific. What have you tried? What error messages do you see?

I do have a game port and the joystick(thrustmaster top gun) and rudders (thrustmaster elite)work. I have connected the throttle as illistrated on the attack throttle box. It shows as not connected in windows under thrustmaster flight control system. I went to  the thrustmaster website and it states that the attack throttle was made before xp and will not be suported. All help is greatly appreciated.

Well, my bad. I said that all analog devices are supported, and that's true, but based on what I just read, the Attack Throttle is a digital device, and it uses a driver that probably isn't compatible with XP.

These instructions may help, but I doubt it:

Sorry for the false hope I may have delivered...

Now if you have a regular Thrustmaster joystick (like a Top Gun or FCS) and Rudder Pedals, then a Thrustmaster WCS Mk II throttle works just fine in XP. You'll need DOS or Win98 to program the buttons, but they then work when you reboot to XP to play AH.
