I don't know if this applies anymore. A long while ago motherboards could in certain cases only upgrade to CPUs of a given socket type, up to a certain speed.
Would this motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131172#spec) have any problem with running a 5200+ or 6000+ AM2 cpu?
Thanks.

Will support all the way up to the 6400+
Asus CPU support list with BIOS version needed.
Just type your motherboard model in the box top left.

Keep in mind that AMD is in the hole again, Intel pushes 30-40% better performance figures.
I used to love AMD but some things I can't deny.
