Gotta laugh at all the screw ups Hillary is making these days. Flip flopping within minutes, her staff caught planting questions at a town hall meeting so she could answer them "I get asked this everywhere", what a laugh. Of course you do Hillary, your staff makes sure of it.
So many screw ups, and now she is playing the "your picking on me cause I am a woman" card. She gonna do that with Hezzbolah??? Weep and run away?
This woman is the biggest phony to ever run for office, she is evil, scheming, nasty and the worst type of narcissist.
But hey, look at her record, she did such a fine job with national health care rolleyes: , she did a fine job of hiding files then "finding" them, lets not talk about the wake of dead who have crossed the Clintons.
Anyone who would vote for her would rate as completely moronic in my book.

Whether I would vote for her (or her party) or not, I rate the rhetoric and conspiracy paranoia of this post equally moronic. But thank you. Ahem. :D

Son, I served against communists. I'd like to presume that you'll grow out of your ignorance some day but there's no guarantee from many of the adults who act the way you do, nowadays.

Rhetoric maybe, but conspiracy paranoia?

Didn't see a non-biased source backing:
" her staff caught planting questions at a town hall meeting so she could answer them "I get asked this everywhere", what a laugh. Of course you do Hillary, your staff makes sure of it."
Until I do it's a paranoid conspiracy theory. When and if it's provided I'll simply jab the rhetoric slinging. :)

Define "non bias". Who are the acceptable non bias sources in all this?

Let's just say that it'll take a source less biased than "frontpagemag" or "Rush Limbaugh.com", comrade. ;)

Her staff admitted to it.... are you so far out there that you simply choose to ignore things that don't go in your leftist favor?

Ahhhh, you're seeing things, alright. I'm not defending "my politician." I'm chastising over-the-top rhetoric. I can't help it. I was raised by grown-ups.
You were unable to find a link? If you're gonna squat, lay the egg. :)

Geesh, you don't know how to Google?
I'll only post one, and since it is MSNBC, I would hope you will agree it isn't some "vast right wing conspiracy."
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/11/10/459394.aspx
As much as she makes my skin crawl, I have to point out that she is far from the only politician that does this kind of thing. Being who she is, though, she is a lot less likely to get away with it for long. She will be caught, but as you can see even by the article I linked, there will be no "outcry" from the media about such a thing (unlike the FEMA thing, for example).

I asked for the assertion to be backed with proof (wasn't my assertion) - it was provided, so I retract the "conspiracy paranoia" jab. The rhetoric is still quite over the top. If Dago hates Sen. Clinton so much for the character flaws highlighted (as if she's the only politician that can be hated for such), then there's a serious case of blinders here.
Just say no to rhetoric. Approach important decisions maturely, calmly and intelligently. Just a suggestion. :D

While not a Dem, I do believe they have better options than a person who has schemed and lied her way to be positioned to be President.

I'm dissapointed that Hillary would stoop to the same tricks the Bush administration has been pulling for 6 years. Like planting "reporters" in press confrences and holding scripted closed "Town Hall Meetings". She should have known better.

Obama is the most intelligent of the lot of them, and at least he is honest enough for the average American to know they would not want him as President.
this last thing this country needs after surviving a family dynasty in the Presidency (assuming it does survive), is another family dynasty in the Presidency. No more Bush, no more Clinton! Thats what I say.
Of course I am undecided as to which republican I support but McCain has my attention. Thompson as well.

Give me your reasons for thinking Edwards is neither intelligent nor honest.
If ... you feel like.
Wasn't Mac villified for being a RINO just a couple years back?
What specific qualifications makes Thompson a great pick other than celebrity (ala Reagan)?

Shouldn't it read "Ondonga"? As in Ondonga, New Guinea? Just curious.

Bless you for being one of the few to give that even a first glance. :D
"Ondongo in the New Georgia group lies about midway up the Solomons chain. The Americans had started at Guadalcanal in August 1942, and were slowly working their way up the chain, toward the northernmost island, Bougainville, and the major Jap base at Rabaul. By late October 1943, the Americans had occupied New Georgia and were directly threatening Bougainville next."
"Ondongo, October - November, 1943
At 0730 on Oct. 27, Fighting-17 came over the coral strip at Ondongo, executed a perfect carrier-style break-up and approach, touched down at thirty-second intervals, and used up only 200 feet of runway. They thought they were showing off. The Army P-39 and New Zealand P-40 pilots thought they were nuts.
Ondongo, "Place of Death," was beautiful, bug-free (good), sniper-free (better), close to the enemy (best), but unfortunately devoid of women (very bad). The maintenance crew of Marine squadron VMF-215 adopted the Jolly Rogers from the beginning, and they got along famously for the whole tour. "

This is why I'll be voting for Ron Paul. This country is quickly going to hell in a handbasket, and this is the first man (or woman) I've seen in my life time I think could maybe fix things. I have no party affiliation. I'm also telling everyone I know about this guy.

Give me your reasons for thinking Edwards is neither intelligent nor honest.
====
I used to think Edwards was a new hope for the democratic ticket. This of course was before he agreed to become Al Gores running mate. During that campaign I saw a tape of him giving a talk to a religious group where he said that if the republicans had not been elected then Chris Reeves would be walking. It was a pathetic moment where I realized Edwards not even average.
Wasn't Mac villified for being a RINO just a couple years back?
====
With McCain I feel more on a gut level that he would simply be decent man to have in the oval office. Far better than Edwards or another Clinton, by far.
What specific qualifications makes Thompson a great pick other than celebrity (ala Reagan)?
====
I still need to study the guy, very much so. Just compared to most of the others on the ticket, I have enough ignorance about him to not dislike him. yet.

Hmmm. Got link? Even so, is this not a reference to the Bush admin's fervent objection to stem cell research based on moral grounds?

Ok. Far be it from me to challenge gut instincts of others. We all have them. I once shared yours. Then Mac changed. Suddenly. It was almost as if someone got to him. But then, that's also just gut talkin'.

Both teams use the same play book.. then deny it with some low budget moral outrage, that just happen to touch on every party talking point, at the nerve of the other team for playing the game. Politically effective tools work for both sides, the Clinton's are just as pond scummy as the Bushes and nowhere near being morally superior.
The dems just got schooled in the art of blatantly urinating on the publics face, accompanied by a .gov expert and a few media reports warning of "protein rich yellow rain" that gives the local news watching masses little concern beyond remembering an umbrella.. the rain might smell piss-like, but the govt & media say its ok... I don't see Bill & Hill above fictional golden showers of planted questions, half truths, and BS if it helps them re-acquire power.
Besides that, seriously, I see very few of the left/right sheep giving a fecal loaf about how their "lessor of two evils" side kept the other team from gaining power. Elections remind me of 2 sheep standing in a deluge of said protein rich yellow rain, the right sheep complains of a foul smell while the left sheep rejoices at the end of the drought...

Unfortunately, like her husband, nothing Hillary says or does will dissuade those inclined to vote for her. It's only a matter of time before the welfare dependent outnumber the tax payers or the illegals are allowed to vote. When that happens it's over. Let's just hope we're not quite there.

^ Agreed. HRC is a lot of things; stupid isn't one of them. What she learned from the health care reform attempt was that it's more important to work in the system than against it. Battleships still don't turn on dimes.

Mac, you almost had me until #11... then I sat down and thought about it for about 10 mins before I posted. I decided I can go with Gov't funded Health Care because it still means more money in my paycheck. You are substituting Gov't funded Health Care for Welfare, net tax increase 0 (maybe even a decreae considering welfare recipients also get gov't covered health ins now). And I get to keep my employee payed portion of my current Health Insurance. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Ahhhh .... presumptive unreasoning strikes again. If you can't make up a good argument against a point, reinvent circumstances and opponent to give you "higher" ground.
I've never been kicked out of any forum. I've never had trouble accepting anything that's actually news and not rhetorical commentary and you're not more socially acceptable than anyone who's ever posted (on this forum or any I've visited, to date).
But if it takes your publically asserting such to feel justifiable. By all means.

Hillary is the master of being who she thinks the audience wants her to be, she doesn't have the guts to show who she is and stick by her own beliefs. She will potato herself in any way to get power.
It is one of the reasons people are starting to notice her flip flopping, she plays to each audience, to each person asking a question.
Though she doesn't understand it, her very acting in this manner shows us exactly who she is, and it isn't someone who should hold an important office.

Though she doesn't understand it, her very acting in this manner shows us exactly who she is, and it isn't someone who should hold an important office.
Again, no matter who I like I don't see you making a case for me not choosing Sen. Clinton.
She "plays" to each person asking a question? Is that like ..... attentiveness? Empathy? Sincere interest? How deceptive!

Sounds like the ultimate sin Hillary has committed is becoming a very competent politician. Maybe a great politician is what we need in the white house. Maybe someone with the ability to create a consensus is more important than someone with the ability to stick to one bad idea for too long. Flip flopping is just silly speak for changing your mind about things. Maybe it would be better to have someone with the intellectual honesty to admit they were wrong and to change course.

How did Colbert put it at the luncheon?
"I stand by this man. I stand by this man because he stands for things. Not only for things, he stands on things. Things like aircraft carriers, and rubble, and recently flooded city squares. And that sends a strong message: that no matter what happens to America, she will always rebound—with the most powerfully staged photo ops in the world."
"Events can change; this man's beliefs never will. He believes the same thing Wednesday as he did Monday. No matter what happened Tuesday."
Funny stuff.

Yeah, that's what we want in a world leader, someone who on camera reverses herself within 10 minutes. Someone viewed as wishy washy, you know, as in lacking backbone and resolve. Someone who can be pushed around and crumbles at any resistance. Sounds like a typical democrat I will give you that, no wonder it fits the criterea you seek. Cut-and-run cowards.

I don't think the world.. but especially the US is ready for a liberal woman leader.. the women that have been leaders have been conservative. I would vote for a libertarian or individualist woman over a conservative republican sooo.. it is not the woman thing.

Great logic that, basically what I would expect from a raging liberal. "She's not as bad as xxxxx, so she is okay".
Kinda ignores that fact that she is a lieing evil person, as long as she isn't as bad as someone else.
Yeah, that is the criteria to elect a person. Don't bother looking for the best candidate, elect someone who "isn't as bad as xxxxx".

A wee bit of bias is blatant in your answer, did you do the same search for CNN, CBS or any other news? Sure doesn't appear so. How about one of the sights that offer a comparison of bias between news media? Again, doesn't appear so. I guess in typical left wing fashion, you see only what you want to see, you point fingers on at those you want to find fault in.
Linking to some website doesn't answer the challenge of actually having watched a network you choose to denigrate.

you might want to look at these sites to start.

I see no error in my assesment of your leanings.. you are a lefty liberal. You lack perspective. merely looking at everything from a leftist view is not perspective.

It does not follow that a person who agrees with a particular view lacks perspective or even hasn't looked at both sides. It also doesn't follow that a person who disagrees with you hasn't looked at all of the same evidence and reached a different conclusion.

I see Hillary was playing the "you're all picking on me" card again. How in the hell can anyone seriously consider wasting a vote on someone who would be such a poor choice.
She changes her stand on about everything just to please the particular audience of the day. She hides behind her gender when the going gets tough.
There has been plenty of documentation about what a truely nasty lieing evil person she is.
What other First Lady had multiple books written detailing well what a nasty lieing evil person that First Lady is? Answer: none, just Hillary, and there have been plenty of books on the subject.

Of course you don't. You're just not that good at assessing. You don't even know what I was responding to. "See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil ... except where my political enemies* are concerned" is not perspective, Laz-y. And if you think that's descriptive of me, it doesn't make you as insightful as you presume you are. Once again, a double standard is still no standard at all. Only one person running to be president of the United States at the present time will do the job.
Hillary Clinton for President
To prove her qualifications, here are some quotes from Mrs. Clinton who is running for President...
"Where is the G-damn f***ing flag? I want the G-damn f***ing flag up Every f***ing morning at f***ing sunrise."
-From the book "Inside The White House" by Ronald Kessler, p. 244 - Hillary to the staff at the Arkansas Governor's mansion on Labor Day, 1991)
"You sold out, you mother f***er! You sold out!"
-From the book "Inside" by Joseph Califano, p. 213 - Hillary yelling at a Democrat lawyer)
"F**k off! It's enough that I have to see you ****-kickers every day, I'm not going to talk to you too!! Just do your G*damn job and keep your Mouth shut."
-From the book "American Evita" by Christopher Anderson, p. 90 - Hillary To her State Trooper bodyguards after one of them greeted her with "Good Morning." )
"You f** *ing idiot"
-From the book "Crossfire" p. 84 - Hillary to a State Trooper who was driving her to an event)
"If you want to remain on this detail, get your f***ing bellybutton over here and Grab those bags!"
-From the book "The First Partner" p. 259 - Hillary to a Secret Service Agent who was reluctant to carry her luggage because he wanted to keep his hands free in case of an incident)
"Get f***ed! Get the f**k out of my way!!! Get out of my face!!!"
-From the book "Hillary's Scheme" p. 89 - Hillary's various comments to Her Secret Service detail agents.)
"Stay the f**k back, stay the f**k away from me! Don't come within ten yards of me, or else! Just f**king do as I say, Okay!!!?"

"Where's the miserable c*ck sucker?"
-From the book "The Truth About Hillary" by Edward Klein, p. 5 - Hillary shouting at a Secret Service officer)
"Put this on the ground! I left my sunglasses in the limo. I need those Sunglasses. We need to go back!"
-From the book "Dereliction of Duty" p. 71-72 - Hillary to Marine One helicopter pilot to turn back while en route to Air Force One )
“Son of a *****."
-From the book "American Evita" by Christopher Anderson, p. 259 - Hillary's opinion of President George W. Bush when she found out he secretly visited Iraq just days before her highly publicized trip to Iraq)
"What are you doing inviting these people into my home? These people are Our enemies! They are trying to destroy us!"
-From the book "The Survivor" by John Harris, p. 99 - Hillary screaming to an aide, when she found out that some Republicans had been invited to the Clinton White House)
"Come on Bill, put your dick up! You can't f**k her here!!"
-From the book "Inside The White House" by Ronald Kessler, p. 243 - Hillary to Gov. Clinton when she spots him talking with an attractive female at an Arkansas political rally.
"You know, I'm going to start thanking the woman who cleans the restroom in the building I work in. I'm going to start thinking of her as a human Being" - Hillary Clinton
-From the book "The Case Against Hillary Clinton" by Peggy Noonan, p. 55)
"We just can't trust the American people to make those types of Choices.... Government has to make those choices for people "
-From the book "I've Always Been A Yankee Fan" by Thomas D. Kuiper, p. 20 - Hillary to Rep. Dennis Hasert in 1993 discussing her expensive, disastrous taxpayer-funded health care plan )
"I am a fan of the social policies that you find in Europe" Hillary in 1996"
-From the book "I've Always Been A Yankee Fan" by Thomas D. Kuiper, p.6)
The religious right say this. "She is an ill-tempered, violent, foul mouthed, hateful and abusive woman who wants to be our president and, as commander-in-chief of our Military, have total control of the very Military for which she has shown incredible disdain throughout her public life. Surely the people of the The United States can easily do better than this."

mt... of course it doesn't follow that a person who reaches a conclussion not of my choosing lacks perspective. I find it interesting tho that you defend arlo when I accuse him of lacking perspective yet... when he accuses everyone else of lacking perspective you let it slide.
I also find it amusing that arlo... like so many lefties... denies his liberal leftyness.
sheesh.. are you guys just ashamed or simply afraid that people will dismiss you out of hand if you admit to be left wingers?
To me.. most strict believers of one political view or another tend to lack perspective. That may even include me with my belief of individualism.. Often that belief gains perspective by personal experiance... say.. a lefty gun control nut after a home invasion for instance... or a total right winger after a loved one is sentenced to 10 years in prison for having a little pot.

Bernard Goldberg discusses this very point in his book "Bias". He explains that typical (pick a coast) lefties tend to hang out with only other lefties, and they conclude that since most everyone they spend time with thinks as they do, that this must be the how the average American thinks. They fail to understand that their lack of exposure to a wider range of people leaves them with a vary narrow focus and without the ability to accurately gauge where they are in the political spectrum.
Right wingers tend not to suffer this misconception, and I think we can attribute this to the fact that right wingers are smarter people. :D :aok :rofl

Also. I have never denied nor made a secret of my political leanings.

arlo.. I have said (maybe you missed that?)that I may also suffer from a lack of perspective but.. if you had read my views on the war on drugs.. abortion.. seatbelts and helmets and gun control and taxes and free speech and... many other things..
you would see that far from being a neocon right winger.... I am a less wimpy libertarian.. I am an individualist. my perspective is tainted by that fact. I am a strong believer in the rights of the individual. I can't compromise on that.
I find the right wingers try to take my freedom in one way and the lefties another... so far.. the lefties affect me more on a day to day basis. They intrude more into my real life. For instance.. I will always want a gun but.. I have very little fear of ever being waterboarded... I hate paying taxes but.. I don't care if some moron wants to listen to my phone converstation.. serves him right.
Day to day.. big, leftest government is the largest threat to my life.. I vote for the republicans out of a lesser of two evils philosophy.. one of pragmatisism.
I would not vote for any democrat that exists today for national poilitics.. they all tow the party line and the party line stinks for life as I know and want.

I like guns, too. I'm just a bit more honest about it than most. They're fun. They do give a person a sense of power. But if I live in a neighborhood that requires an M-16 to stay alive, I think I can afford to move.
Women don't scare me. Homosexuals don't scare me. Black people don't scare me. Muslims don't scare me. Extremists scare me. Stupid extremists, even more.

You say liberal. I say rational. Hi, I'm some people's political nightmare. An opinionated moderate. No more status quo. :D

"But I stand apart from those laughing at the anti-Muslims thinking the entire faith of Islam salivates at the thought of burning my children alive to celebrate Ramadan."
Sheesh. This is what happens after you rewrite a sentence three times in a hurry (being called away to other tasks between) and proof-read too fast.
Alas, there's a time-limit for editing.
Make that:
"But I stand apart from those anti-Muslims laughing and thinking the entire faith of Islam salivates at the thought of burning my children alive to celebrate Ramadan."
Thanks, Tigress!

arlo.. most socialist lefties like to tell people they are "moderate" so I expected nothing less from you. It matters not if I need an m16 or a hamburger or porn or whatever.. so long as I don't use it to harm you... none of your "moderate" business. you can't make one type of gun evil.. it is liberal socialist busybody nonsense.
socialism is evil. It is indeed a religion. capitalism is not what this country was founded on.. individualism and individual rights and freedom is what it was founded on and socialism is the enemy of that.
You can't be "moderate" and a socialist. with one exception... you can be a socialist with not power over anyone else... you can have all the socialist programs in the world.. so long as they are voluntary...
Get it? no? that is called charity. socialism is not "moderate" socialism says.. "I think it is a good idea for you to support others who wont or can't so I am going to take your property away to do so.. if you resist.. I will kill you."
How exactly is that a "moderate" stance?
aerosmith sucks.
women or negros (you are calling then black people right?) or homos don't scare me.. neiter do muslims... so long as they have no power over me.
and that is the rub.. as soon as they have power over my life.. then they are a threat.
I am the true moderate. I allow everyone to be equal. The fear comes about when things are taken from for some percieved slight or inequality ...
liberalism is indeed all around us. PC and hate crimes and affirmative action... all affect us on a daily basis... a form of newspeak.. a most terrible form of socialism and censorship.
I don't need the government to tell me what are good or bad guns.. or how to talk to people or who I should hire to do a job or what words are acceptable. I don't need you in my pockets to "help" people.. I have seen how much liberal socialist programs have "helped" people in this country.. the end does not justify the means... the means is all we have.
you are not a moderate in the least unless you are using some scale that starts with marx and end with hillay.

arlo.. thanks for proving my point... you got nothing but the fake quote and the one liner.
Your thinking is beyond shallow or.. dishonest or both. You won't say what you think except in broad terms because you are afraid. afraid people will see the real agenda. It is far from moderate.
you won't talk about any issue except in satire because... other than the crappy jon stewart immitation.. you got nothing.. you fear having to back up what you say so you stay as silent as you can while ridiculing select parts of what others say. sheesh.. at least when stewart has his writers behind him he can be funny.. you have to put smiley faces so that we know you are funny.. who are you trying to convince?
Here is the challenge.. pick a topic and how you feel about it and we will debate.. you mentioned gun control... I am willing to hear what you have to say...
Oh wait... you did quip on in at the militia thread... no substance... anyone surprised? either you are as empty of thinking as you appear or as afraid of stating what you think as you appear.

Dear Lazs,
Thank you for your wet panties concern over my ability to express myself versus your .... ummmm .... talent .... for such, though I've never had a problem stating my position or speaking my mind. Wow Arlo, you could not have illustrated your left bent better if you tried. You followed exactly the example of the moronic little leftie college kids who would yell and disrupt a conservative trying to give a speech at a college because they didn't agree.
You follow the example: Don't let someone have a say because you don't agree with them. You just instead change my words to what you want to hear, you can't risk another persons opinion being stated, you would rather restrict their right to free speech.

yep... proving my point yet again. Let's see.. I said he had no substance except a crappy jon stewart imitation and gave him a chance to prove otherwise by picking a topic that he believed in and give us some substance.. to prove he was a "moderate" and not afraid to say what he thinks.
he replies by making a crappy jon stewart imitation reply and avoiding any topic out of fear and lefty dishonesty.
read what he says about gun control... he doesn't think...er.. maybe he doesn't think or.. maybe he does think... oh..yeah.. he thinks that if he NEEDS an m16 to defend himself then he will just run away from that place.
Does that mean that he thinks we should not be allowed to have a stoner designed carbine with select fire? who knows? does that mean our rights are based on need? "from each according to their abilty and to each according to their need" sort of thing?
seems so...

Meanwhile Clinton is rising in the polls.
Never thought I would live to see a woman elected president in my lifetime but it looks like Bush pee-owed enough people to ensure it.
She is, after all, a politician; not an angel. I don't trust the lot, lefties or righties; innies or outies, and that includes her and her husband and the rest of the presidental hopefuls, righties and lefties.
At least with Clinton we will have a lot of entertainment. That will, no doubt, be furtile enough new ground to bring president bashing to a whole new and as yet undiscovered level! :rofl
As Billy Clinton said... "elect me and you get two for the price of one"; guess that still holds.
Shoot she might get to serve two terms with Billy running amock in the white house for 8 more years. :rofl :rofl :rofl
Is it legal for Billy to serve as her Vice-President?

I said the same about Bill in 1992. I'm afraid to say it again. I did see an amusing bumper sticker a couple of days ago. Took me a few seconds to get it. Said:
Reelect Gore 2008
As I passed them on the highway I gave 'em a little "rub". ;)

THE END GAME
Clinton Hits Rough Patch As Iowa Showdown Nears
Rivals Strike From Left As She Courts Center;
'Responsibility Gene'
By JACKIE CALMES
November 23, 2007; Page A1
BALLSTON, Va. -- As Hillary Clinton huddled with advisers not long ago, she was pressed to stake a position popular with the party's left-leaning voters on one issue. But the presidential front-runner resisted. It wasn't her position.
"If I do what you all want me to do, I'll look great for the next couple months," she said, according to one insider's account. "But what if I'm the nominee? I'll be ripped apart by the Republicans. And what if I'm the president? My hands will be tied."
The New York senator's response captured the tension at the core of her 10-month-old presidential bid, and helps illuminate why she has hit a dangerously bumpy stretch as January's first nominating votes near. Sen. Clinton actually is running two campaigns at once -- courting left-leaning Democrats to get the nomination, but mindful even now of maintaining a sufficiently centrist course to withstand Republican attacks and win election next November.
Beyond that, Sen. Clinton views her campaign as a template for her possible presidency. Having witnessed Bill Clinton's early struggles reconciling campaign promises with governing -- and guided by his private advice now -- she knows first hand that what candidates say now for political points can haunt them as president. Close advisers call this caution her "responsibility gene."
-
She'd be a fool if she didn't. She already has the lefties in her pocket. They aren't likely to switch even for Giuliani. She can only gain by lying about her position.
-
Tigeress, good points. Bill Clinton's efforts to pass legislation during 1993 pleasing to the more radical elements of the left proved to be disastrous to the democratic party in the Congressional elections of 1994.
The reaction to the Brady Bill, in particular, unseated scores of Democratic congressmen who had voted to support it. Other issues only compounded the defeat.
-
she can say what she wants but she is an arrogant lefty like none we have ever seen.. she will lose her temper and more and more about her left wing agenda will come out. I can't believe that anyone would be fooled for any length of time.. into thinking there was the slightest chance that she had changed her stripes and had become a "moderate".
Unless they just wanted to fool themselves that is... sorta like us thinking that old rudy has changed and "moderated" his views on gun control... while he is no way near as rabid as hillary... he is no friend to our rights.
lazs
-
I am just watching... from the shadows... waiting...
In my view, the Republicans better groom a Moderate as well if they want a nominee to have a chance against another Moderate.
Like I said, I don't trust any of them but someone will be elected and from the looks of it, it will be Clinton.
It boils down to choosing the lesser of two evils, once again, in my opinion.

Hmmmm, Bill might challenge Hillary for the evilness title but he can't run. That pretty much makes everyone else a lesser evil imo. One thing I find amusing though, and I'm not accusing you of this Tigeress, is when the lefties tell the righties that they better offer a moderate posistion, as if they would even consider supporting anyone not firmly in their socialist camp.

Dear, I am not a lefty nor a righty; I am an honest-to-goodness middle-of-the-roady Moderate... just slightly to the right of center.
If you compiled everything I have ever written on this board you will not find a lefty lurking there! :) That is an absolute fact.
The problem, as I see it, is extremism... both left extremism and right extremism.
The majority of We The People are moderates, so I am nothing special in that regard.
What is unusual is an outspoken Moderate! :)
The left and right hardliners have difficulties with that! :rofl They are used to fighting with each other; not with Moderates.

Nor do I accuse you of being a leftie though your comment reminded me of some of the more vocal lefties insisting that Bush support their socialist agendas even though they wouldn't have dreamed of voting for him.

mmmm... you should have heard me ranting against the hard left during Bill Clinton's two terms. WOW!
It was as vocal as my ranting against the hard-right of the last almost 7 years! ;)
Imma Moderate... who voted for Bush Sr and Jr.
I have a typical Moderate Ala Cart Agenda with balanced flavors of both blue and red... none extreme.

Bill pressed a very liberal agenda while in office and the lefties yucked it up. His only concession to the right imo was in stopping military gays from flaunting their gayness. Of course this spoiled the lefties and they still suffer under the delusion that every president, whether they voted for him or not, must support their progressive agendas. Soon as Hillary takes office her extremism will be revealed. Maybe Mr. Miyagi was right. "Walk left side of road, ok. Walk right side of road, ok. Walk middle of road, get squashed like bug." ;)
-
I've learned that nothing said in here will ever change anyone's mind, however, some statements, although true will inevitably cause spittle to fly and keyboards to crack.
Clinton was the most fiscally conservative President since Kennedy.
-
tigress.. you admit that you got fooled by old bill... that you were ranting on his hard left turn... the fact is that he never strayed from his far left agenda... not once.. he only said he did... the left lies about being left because they know America hates them and their ideas.
MT may be the most honest lefty on this board and he is not so much as he pretends... the real lefties here all hide and lie about it.
hillary is worse. she has an abrasive personality instead of smooth like bill but she has more guile and she may be smarter and.. I am sure she is far more ruthless and less worried about who gets upset..
She will say anything but... just like her husband.. she will go hard left the second she gets the power.. and... she won't be so wishy washy about the polls.. she is a true "the end justifies the means" liberal lefty.

Yes, Moderates agree with certian aspects of both right and left and disagree with certian aspects of both right and left.
We tend to get hammered by both hard-lefties and hard-righties! :rofl
That's Ok!
I remember Rush L. saying "Pick a damn side! Stand for something!"
It fustrated him to no end to contend with Moderates!
He would much rather have a hard-left opponent he could put a "one size fits all" label on.

I never trusted "Slick Willie" for a moment.
But he played a good saxophone!
'Member! I don't trust politicians at all! None of them!
Hillary aggravates me.
I don't like her personality and the fact she didn't throw that cheating husband of her's out on his ear told me loads about her political agenda.
Plus there are serious rumors she was as much a philanderer as Bill was... but with the same sex.
I am waiting for the Republican Party to spring evidence to that end... but it probably won’t work 'cause she stayed married to Bill.
Best they can do is paint her as a bi-sexual and we all know most men think women who are Bi are ok with them and their three-way fantasies. :rofl :rofl :rofl

PS: Actually Lazs, I have paid particular attention to your writings as a whole. From what I have seen, you are a right-wing moderate.
From everything I have gathered, you dislike Communism and Fascism as much as I do.
You are just more to the right of center than I am. I am somewhat less concerned about a bit of common-sense socialism here and there, that's the main difference I see.

Saving money by gutting the military may be fiscally conservative provided you don't then turn around feed at least significant amounts of that money back into social programs which Clinton most definitely did.
-
Ya I remember the peace dividend talked about a lot back then, maybe the military didn't need to be as big after the U.S.S.R fell apart, and before all you guys jump on me about 9/11, that was an intelligence failure not a military one.
I do remember Clinton signing welfare reform, that was a huge savings to the budget and still is.
The guy we got in there now really poured huge money into social programs ie: the convoluted senior drug program, one of the biggest boondoggles I have seen.
Nope, we have anything but a conservative occupying 1600 now.

Section 8. The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
To borrow money on the credit of the United States;
Why is it that if Congress controls the taxation, borrowing and bill paying that the President is the one who gets credit or blame for the budget deficit?
-
Because unless there is a veto level majority, the president has a huge amount of control over the budget. And it is the executive branch that presents the budget every year.
-
When the President presents his budget, does he ask for the bridges to nowhere and federally funded pottery museums too?
Vote out congress and we can maybe get change.
-
You mean the republican controlled congress that has been in power since 94 and was just "voted out" last year... that congress?
-
No, I mean the 96% of congress that gets re-elected each time regardless of party.
Make a 5th term the exception in the house and a 3rd term in the Senate a rare occurance and we may change the status quo
