Title: Flying drunk...
Post by: Wingnutt on November 14, 2007, 10:47:57 PM
in AH not real life of course..

Im a bud light pilot myself,
what is everyone else's beverage of choice while flying the e-friendly skies?

also I find that there is a beer consumption curve..

my ability seems to improve gradually as I drink, peeking at 4 to 5 beers (depending on previous food intake), however after about 7 there is a steep decline in fighting ability, but an equally steep increase in smack talking ability..

umm,.. stay in school, don't, drink and drive... err.. be kind rewind..

During the week, a beer here & there. On Friday nights when I plan to be in the game, my weekend bottle of "flying juice."

Not much of a beer man myself.  Hate the taste.  My squaddies give me a hard time for drinking Mikes.  But hey, it tastes good and it gets me all warm and fuzzy inside!!

Sam Adams.

I, too, have a peak around 4-5 beers.

I find Friday nights are lethal to any semblence of a decent K/D score.

Last Friday was the worst.  My buddy talked me into, somehow, taking up a 262 about 8 beers in the bag.  "Dude, just stay fast and you'll be fine!"

You know how the story ends, right?  I roll into a horde of cons and BOOM ram right into a typhoon head on.  Right to the tower.

Rockdog, you owe me 174 perks.

Beer, or Ale, should be drunk at the temperature it's fermented at. In most UK Pubs
the cellar is usually 55 degrees or so year round. That's where they used ti ferment it years ago.
Drinking it at that temperature will taste at it's true flavour. Things have changed over the years and I'm sure some Beers are drunk colder.
This doesn't apply to Bud type Beers here in the Sates. Everything is done colder.

It's not WARM ;)

I couldn't believe it, just got back from a week in London and every pub that I went to that was supposed to have Spitfire told me that they "had" it but had taken it off the tap a few weeks before I got there.  Only place they thought I could find it was a weatherspoons (if I recall the name correctly) but didn't happen to stop in one while I was there.  Finally found it at Tesco or some place in the bottle and had to settle for that.  Have the souvenier sitting next to my monitor at home. :)

You can brew beer at home that is better than most of what you can buy.  Not hard to do either.

Boy "back in the day" I use to guzzle those Guinness stouts. I can remember drinking like 27 of them at one sitting. Then the AirForce sent me to England and I was shocked to see how they would ruin a perfectly good stout by mixing it with a lager. I dont mind warm stout but why would you ruin one like that?

We got a strip with German bars in my town and, way back when, every Thurs. night these old German WW-ll vets used to get together. Luftwaffe, Army, Kreigsmarine, I used to sit with those old guys and drink for like 14 hours straight. They used to tell me their WW-ll stories, man I miss those guys. We'd all have a bellyfull of Schoor beer singing old German marching songs.

If anything I believe sobriety is stunting my AH development. Sobriety is over-rated.

I actually have a keg-o-rator about 3 feet from my desk.  Completely lose count on how many Yeungling Lager Light pints go down....but they flow faster the better the fighting.  I can usuakky drain a halk keg in 2weeks solo, most of which is consumed while playing this damn game.

LOL - a drunk thread...I LOVE IT
Hello, my name is ASP and I have a drinking problem....HI ASP!!!
Actually I don't unless the bottle is empty, or I spill my drink - then I have a problem.
Personally I go for a good ol bottle of Jack...we been together so long now, I have the right to call him Jim :D   But in a pinch, I'll pull out my back up - TURKEY!  Wild Turkey 101 baby :aok

But seriously, drinking while playing improves my game play....since I SUCK for the most part.   I'm very easy to spot - I'm the guy that will HO you, or lose all my E, and most importantly - turn at the wrong time and put you on my 6 for an easy kill.   Hello all - my name is ASP and I am a dweeb....HI DWEEB!:D

As far as vodka's go that stuff actually doesn't taste good, they just have a great advertising campaign, I've seen more then one blind taste test where they took people who are vodka drinkers and had them taste like 6 or 7 different vodka's and they always rate the Grey Goose vodka as the worst tasting one, and most of these people before they started the test would say that Grey Goose was there favorite vodka, and that they would only drink Grey Goose, so what it is is people are just convincing themselves that it taste good when it actually doesn't.

never really had to convince my self something taste good.......like absolute and smirnoff and host of others...

never was much of a charcoil drinker myself....jack has always left a charcoal taste in my mouth....

I like 101 and like Jim Beam though..

nothing comes close to some good N carolina shine / home made brandy though. never has never will......  and yes...I will be getting my  mash this coming Friday on my trip back home to Mom and Dad's......

If I drank Vodka while playing AH, I would have to play on my laptop..

I could set it on top of the toilet tank and do sorties between dry heaves :(

Signs that you are too drunk would be...

You lose arguments with inanimate objects.
You have to hold onto the lawn to keep from falling off the earth.
Job interfering with your drinking.
Your doctor finds traces of blood in your alcohol stream.
Career won't progress beyond Senator of Massachusetts.
The back of your head keeps getting hit by the toilet seat.
Sincerely believe alcohol to be the elusive 5th food group.
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case - coincidence?? - I think not!
Two hands and just one mouth... - now THAT'S a drinking problem!
You can focus better with one eye closed.
The parking lot seems to have moved while you were in the bar.
Your twin sons are named Barley and Hops.
Hey, 5 beers has just as many calories as a burger, screw dinner!
Mosquitoes catch a buzz after attacking you
At AA meetings you begin: "Hi, my name is... uh..."
Your idea of cutting back is less salt.
You wake up in the bedroom, your underwear is in the bathroom, you fell asleep clothed. - hmmm.
The whole bar says 'Hi' when you come in...

Back when I was on the ba-ba I was mostly a shot and a beer guy. I liked the expensive stuff, "but would drink sewer booze if free or all I had". My favorite combo was probably a fine German brew with shots of Jaigermeister. You cant beat the bloody Hun for brewing beer.

A few years ago, FlaydONE and I were fighting off some cons low on the deck. I was in a Yak. Flayd was in a Zeke, and definitely was enjoying his vodka. During the fight at some point with our opponents, Flayd flopped his Zeke into the tree tops, and logged off soon after.

I received a PM from one of our opponents remarking about how badly Flayd was flying, and I told him that Flayd was pretty plastered, and we got a laugh out of it. I told Flayd it was pretty bad when someone halfway across the world could tell how drunk you were by how badly you flew.

Yeah whenever I drink vodka it's always Absolute with tonic & lime.  Smirnoff is always good too, as a matter of fact in those blind vodka taste tests I've seen Smirnoff is usually picked close to if not the best tasting.

Also if you like Jim Beam you should try Knob Creek, I posted a pic of it earlier in this thread, it's made by Jim Beam and aged 9 years, it's some good tasting stuff.
