Title: Acronis True Image Home or Norton Ghost?
Post by: Gunthr on November 18, 2007, 10:18:12 AM
I was wondering if anyone had experience with either of these programs and had any recommendations for or against either one?

I've been recommending Acronis True Image to my clients for years now. Tried ghost, but found True image to be easier to use.

I haven't tried V12 of ghost yet myself, as I'm perfectly happy with True Image at this point. Don't know if there's any real improvements in V12 over the earlier versions.

Besides being easier to use, True Image is about $20.00 cheaper to buy.

I've used Ghost at our school district to reimage an entire computer lab over night from a server. From that standpoint it's great, but I dunno how that reflects upon your use. At least in the 120 or so computers I've done with it, it's never messed up at all.

If you're one of those rebel types, "Hiren's Boot CD" has a copy stolen from a Washington State School District on it.

Ghost was written by Kiwi's so I should back it, but TBH Acronis rules.
