This could be a good thing........

would definitely decide what happened. That is if it's turned on.
Think it would stand in a court of law?
I see it's encrypted.

When a device like this can record plus upload back to HQ in real time, all LEO will probably start wearing one strapped to their head during their shift along with thier firearms and tazers. I wonder if it will become eligal for us lowley tax slaves to record our own day just in case to have a video recording for any reason for our lawyer......
So will a device like this be required for CCW holders and/or for all law abiding gun owners as one of those "reasonable common sense gun laws"? NewJersy passed a law saying when personal recognition electronic fire control devices are perfected, you can only purchase that kind of a pistol ever again. But then only police, mobsters\politicians, celebrities and freinds of the governer can own a handgun in NewJersey.
Im reaching for straws at this point, but it would be a quick national way to make a large percentage of law abiding gun owners criminals with one stroke of a pen. Or simply discourage new comers to owning firearms.
Not everyone can afford one. Nor all older firearms easily adapted to these kinds of attachments. The wording of such a bill would be direct...no devicy on your gunie activily recording yur shootie for policiee when they demandie..you criminalie...fineie and confiscatie.....maybe jailiee.
Remember, new cars have had black boxes in them for how long now? Are we allowed to disabel them? By law or our insurance carriers won't cover us if we do? Insurance companies like democrats and lobby lotsa monies to them. Think of seat belt laws and how they got passed.........any human injury/fatality related to firearms is very expensive to insurance companies in one way or another............think about it.

Time to dust off Brave New World and 1984 again, plus Animal Farm for good measure.

Well ... it has never been illegal for a private citizen to carry a camera around in a public place. If you're in a public place anyone can film or take pictures of you at will.

Bad, bad idea.

I'm not sure I see the point...
Ballistics tests can already tell which gun fired what round... this seems sort or redundant.

That's not entirely true. It's usually correct but there have been instances when for varying reasons it has NOT worked.

If you have the gun, the ballistic test can match the round fired to marks that the gun makes. That is a huge IF. It needs both the gun, and the bullet used to match it, assuming the bullet used is still recognizable.
However, without all of those requirements, it's pretty useless.
