Well, since I suck arse at dogfighting in the P47, I've been trying out new planes to fight in. I have found 3 planes that I like to dogfight in and don't completely
aforementioned arse out: P51D, P38J, and F6F.
I was wondering what tips I could get to help me get better with these planes. Also any tips on the Fw190a5 or Yak 9T as I don't want to fly only American planes.

190A5 - Never take the extra 20 mm's. Bad idea. Like all 190's, not good turn rate. Best used BnZ, E-fighter.
Yak9-T - Best tater gun in game. Also VERY effective against gv's. Use it as a turn fighter/ E-fighter, because top speeds from 5-15 kilometers ROCK!

F6F is an extremely fun plane. I consider it a slow, blue, TnB Jug. Their construction, looks, dates of service, effect on the war and loosing the glory to another (P51, F4u) are so similar, that the Hellcat could almost be a 'navalized' version of the P-47. The roll rate is somewhat disappointing though.
The only down side to the F6F is the ugly cockpit with the too long (wrong) verical bar over the too short arch. I hope this is the next model to be upgraded. Wasn't it also established that our Kitties miss 15-20 mph in top speed? Bringing them to ~400 top?
Ah yes, try the 190A5, it is the only one that is fun to fly.

If by "dogfighting" you're referring to nimble turning aircraft, consider:
Hurricane IIC or Hurricane Mk1 (a ton of .303's and a hoot to fly)
Spit V or VIII
N1K2

Not to shoot down anyones idea of trying different planes, but if you "suck arse at dogfighting in the P47" maube you just didn't try long enough?
I think the trick to this game is patience. It takes time to get half decent in any aspect of the game. To many people think they should, or most DO have it down in a few days and then are either disapointed they get there arse handed to them, or accuse everyone of cheating.
Take the time to go to the training area and hook up with a trainer, and learn the finer points of your favorite ride, then practice, practice, practice. You'll be a killer in it before you know it!

Hurri I excellent ride........once ya get used to grav carb, nothing will out turn you.
However, your best ride will be with patience & practice. Go to the TA and look up a trainer, or PM a trainer, make an appointment for training time. Bottom line.............If your serious about wanting to learn................there's serveral dedicated trainers waiting for Serious Pilots to do some Serious training.
Your Move.

p47 is a lot of fun i kind of prefer the 8/.50's to the cannon planes at times (unless im on bombers) shooting is a breeze and god tons of ammo cause i love to spray. i end up dead when i get slow, i usualy take it to 20k and circle around behidn a feild so i can drop in on people on the way to a furball if i get in trouble a fave tactic is to dive hard and deep through as many freindly cons as i can and hope they pick up the one on my tail all esle fails i cut throttle and go for the overshoot cause you can cut speed very fast in it. it can take a hit and keep on fighting so i kind of prefer it to flying spits and the lighter planes now. not the best in the world at it still learnin (you could spend years learning one plane in this game lol)
i jumped from the lighter planes to the heavy jug just for some variety.
i fly the N model mostly if eny is to high i take a 51 or f6f
corsairs are awesome too you just gota know what to do with em just like any other plane.

I fly jugs most of the time and once you get to know the plane, it is an prettythang kicker. I still have alot to learn but if you ever want to hook up in the training arena I'd be glad to show you what I've learned flying the jug.
