The word is derived from the farming term “Ba Ba Stage”. This is a wooden slatted platform in a barn where people perform with sheep. (If you know what I mean).

Although a popular activity (esp. with AHII players) the people who participate in this activity are really quite strange and are dislike, so a derogatory term of BaBaStage was coined to insult them. This was then shortened to BAStage.
