Anyone is using the Saitek X52 I have a question. I got the bug to go back and try the SST software. I have Win2k and WinXP on a dual boot.
Currently I map all through the AH side and have four good control modes, but it bugs me that I can't use all of the X52 controls without the SST software.
My question is which Version numbers of the SST and the Driver and which OS are you using?
Apparently they have to match in order for everything to work right. Ive tried various versions of both and have had saibus.sys errors and computer reboots when trying to load profiles using either the Pro or dat file extension profiles.
Please post the actual version numbers if you can.
Thanks in advance

I am using the "beta" drivers currently available for download on the Saitek site. It fixed my CTD.

I tried those, but there was a huge question over which driver matches which version SST software, Original CD drivers or windows update drivers. By Beta you mean Beta SST or actual Beta X52 windows drivers. Thats why I was trying to get actual version numbers of what works.
X52 with Win 2K Drivers (Non WHQL)
x52_151205_32.exe
2K Software for X52
sst_151205_32.exe
or these
X52 with Win XP 32 Drivers (Non WHQL)
x52_151205_32.exe
XP 32 Software for X52
sst_151205_32.exe
or these
Controller_SD6_32_Beta2.exe
SST_Software_32_Beta2.exe
BTW
Which OS are you using?
Edit
When you went to the Beta drivers did you have to use .Pro or .Dat profiles?
-
If you move to the Beta drivers etc.... you will have to re-write ALL of the profiles....
so make sure you read the read-me befor installing them and check the fourms on the Saitek site.

I went ahead and tried all three beta's again. The ones listed above, 32 bit for either Win2k or WinXP, Stick, Rudder Pedals and SST Software. It worked!! Only downside is and its a small one there is no longer the Preview Screen which shows which button your working on, minor detai.
So now I'm so thrilled I can accept reworking my old files and the ones that I got from Herder.
Hmmm BTW anyone have any profiles that will work with the Beta's that they might be willing to share?
LOL
Thanks

If profiles for the beta are being passed around, I wouldn't mind seeing some. If there is a tutorial on how to copy and send, I'll send mine. But I warn you, I'm looking to improve for a reason. :D

Thanks for the quick response, howwwwever, from the Saitek forum,
"SD5 profiles do not work with the new SD6 SST software - you have to rebuild them from scratch".
I have the Beta2 - 6.0.4.1 drivers and SST software SD6, I'm assuming that SD5 is Beta1. I get the dreaded "Failed to Open" error message when trying to open your profile.
Saitek should be ashamed of themselves, time to re read the instruction manual and build a new profile.
Thanks Hungry
PS:
If you've got a working X52 Profile do not upgrade either the software or the stick drivers or be prepared to create new profiles!

Hungry,
Sorry I sent you the wrong one by mistake.... check your e-mail you now have the SD6 profile
Sorry

Hip Hip Hoorayyyy! LOL Thanks ever so much, I finally have a working SST software setup. I still say though that Saitek should be ashamed of themselves, I really like the stick, throttle and pedals I have of theirs and I say that being a long time CH products user.
I only hope that they come out with that conversion program that I saw on their BBS that will convert the older .dat and .pro files to the current.
Thanks
