Do you guys think it is feasible to have an Aces High Hall of Fame?
What criteria is need to qualify - I don't know and I am sure I will not qulify for a long long time.
But there are guys in here I think could qualify or at least recognized.

The people that would be deserving would not neccesarily be in there for their piloting skills, but for the way they treat others within the community. I could think of many names that I consider Hall of Fame people not pilots.

If this was reallity, the guys at HT would call out what is required. I think a minimum active account for 8 years and actively in the top 50 rank continuously might be a start.

That doesn't qualify for a hall of fame, that qualifies for a padded room :)

Ranked consistantly in the top 50 would be more along the lines of the Hall of Pork.
Not knocking anyones game play here, but The scoring system IMHO is a bit on the silly side, and really isn't a good measure of anything other then ones ability to game the score.example, he who captures most bases is the best bomber. Still haven't figured that one out.
The fact is that out of the top 100 players scores, maybe ten are actually good enough to be in the top 200 let alone a Hall of fame. There are some players that just play the game and naturally end up with a high rank, but to many game the score.
I'm not sure you can pick a top player of the tour, really depends on what you think is important, anyway anything other then head to head comparisons is really meaningless.

Way I see it........ The top ranking players (usually Lynx, AXER....bla bla bla) means only one thing....... They know the little tricks, targets and in what order to hit them....to achieve the top positions on the rank ladder. They are good pilots, don’t take me wrong….and they know the game....but are they the BEST?

In a lot of ways I agree with this. A lot of top ranked guys increase their over-all ranking flying milk runs in bombers. They must be milk runs cause there aint no bullets either coming in or going out.
Lynx however is an exception. He takes bombers into harms way, takes out meaningful targets, and shoots the crap out of fighters coming at his bombers. Lynx is just a great all around stick. I know for a fact he doesn't milk run bombers. In the top 10 he's the only one who actually flys and fights the bombers.
But some of the others guys??:lol C'mon? How do you sortie 30 bomber formations, get no kills and suffer 3 deaths, and yet get ranked in the top 5 of bomber sticks?? You dont need to be a rocket scientist to figure any of this out.
Many, many times Ive hit fighters a bit and then observed them run like sheep for the nearest base to land. I know who they are cause of the fighter type, the time to land, and the "*****" landed 6 kills" in the marquee.:D Then again Ive had guys ranked 1,345, dance around me brilliantly, giving me fits, and stick around till the bitter end. There are some tremendous sticks with bad rankings.
But the milk runners in bombers?? For shame! Im sorry but Ive been meaning to say this for awhiles.

I totally agree, Lynx and a few of the other top players, just play the game, their rank just comes naturally without alot of milk running, lynx is an amazing player, he won't admit it but he is in the top Ten of complete players in this game, he plays the whole game.

LYNX is a good player...... no contest there.
My statement was a general one directed at the redundancy of the scoring system.
Rank #1 or rank #1001............ Enjoying your time in the arena is the main goal.

Do you mean that when I killed LYNX' 3 Lancasters the other day going after a Bish city in a zone that no other strats were down in and none of the bases in the zone were being contested wasn't a milk run? Nothing against LYNX, he's a very good player and I do the same. Just saying I think your facts are slightly askew.
[EDIT] As to high buff scores with no shots fired it's easy flying AR234's. The will fly away from almost anything and carry plenty of payload to do a lot of damage.

Been in this game for what, five years now? It still amazes me that people I never heard of are talking about how good some other people I've never heard of are. I mean, if they are so good and like to get their hands dirty you'd think we might have fought once or twice during the span of 5 years? lol.
Say what you want. You cannot be in the top 50 without at list playing is safe. You know, come in high over field, pwn a few uppers in your 1C or p51 then head home and land 10 kills while avoiding every engagement on the way back because you are low on fuel and ammo lol.

I am simple suggesting that maybe some sort of criteria is needed. Maybe the 50 rank is not a good idea but lets face it, there are guys that contribute to this game outside of the MA and that are decent players and since we are somewhat a community where we do interact, then recognision i think is feasible. Guys who take the time to train others in the DA or TA and strive to make others better players; guys who make skins and noseart, ect... I for one am not qualified to say what criteria is needed to qualify but I wanted to put the idea out there.
The flip side is what Whiteman said is that if you are recognized, you need to go outside more often.:aok

Well if you want a shot at being #1 in bombing you better get on the ball, cause with two it won't happen, i'm saying base captures should not have any effect on a bombing score, thats my point.

No one said Lynx does not milk run, what he said is Lynx does not only milk run, obviously to have a good score overall you must do some milk running.
My point is that the scoreing system is at the very least a misguided way of determining the best player.
And for the record, I think LYNX is the best overall player in this game, as I said he plays the entire game. and does not have to be gamie about the score, he gets a good score naturally, just by playing.

Umm... I feel I must contribute although off thread topic. BaldEagle, please don't take any of the following the wrong way as I explain my actions and how the game works. No offence meant and I have taken none.
Aside the fact it's fun to bomb the chitzoid outta stuff there was method in what you perceived as a milk run. Some players know I have a rod up me arse for CV command and CV base captures. Keep that in mind as I twitter on.
You'll know about zones from playing so long and that porking strat targets actually works, all be it marginally depending on resupply. I was moving CV's from the south west / west to engage Bish fields north west / west. Cv's wont last long if ordnance is up at the target field or indeed the 2,3 or 4 local fields to it. Cv will be sunk mid attack or sooner if spotted early.
Since the old larger terrain came back (thank you HTC) I have been diligent where possible in porking Bish ords ahead of the CV's. However, Bish strat was ALL at 100%. Not ideal for ord porking because it has a short down time with strats so strong and automated resupply. I could be wrong but I thinks it's 30 to 40 minutes. So, a squaddie and myself went a "stratin". No point taking out your ammo factory if the zone city is full up. You can increase the factories down time by blasting the city to heck. Our target was city and ammo factory. Lancaster 50 % fuel 18 x 500's + 1 x 4,000Lb'er. We were, famous last words, going to give it to you good and proper. Make your porked ords stay down well over the hour unless your guys ran supplies. As it goes we only made one pass on the city before I lost me squaddie. Shot down or disco I can't recall which because we've done it a number of times. I opted to complete the destruction of the city with an intention of the factory secondly. Well what do you know. You bloody well show up and nicely done to .
The "milk run" in your words is "advanced planning" in mine. Na mate, I was playing the game. We did attack / take some fields with the CV but we also lost the CV's because that blasted factory was still at 100%. Had time been permitting I would have gone back for it.
One other thing fields 12 & 13 fell to our Lancaster tonight. You may recall shooting down Bravo80's Lancs at 18,000 feet then you got your engine smoked by the next set of Lancs you targeted ... well guess who :D.

As for bomber ranks there's a couple of things I can say. You get good bomber rank from field captures combined with hit / damage %. Take a Nuka Stuka and hit the biggest cluster of buildings you can find then rinse repeat. This also works well in attack mode for attack score. Bit of a shame for the hard core bomber guys. Perhaps stukas should be limited to attack mode only?
Secondly some of you may have heard the phrase "Ack Star". This is when a bomber just flies around enticing fighters then shooting them down. This is why I speculate that fighter kills don't count to bomber score. It would be miss used by the "Nintendo" crowd.

Hall of fame for me would be HTC and crew. In depth on their duties, photos and some personal stuff. Followed by contributors to the game like trainers, terrain builders and skinners. What they did etc.

No offense taken. I can only read the words written. I can't interpret peoples thoughts. You said no one said that LYNX never milk ran but that, in fact, they meant blah blah blah. I pointed out that someone did say exactly that. I wasn't trying to make an issue of anything. Only pointing out the facts.
LYNX, no offense. I understand what you were attempting to acomplish and am glad I was able to stop you but I'm sure you can see where it looked like a milk run from my perspective.
BTW, I had visions of landing 6 tonight :)

Because of that, I waited a while to re-up to see if anything would up in the backfield that might be a set of buffs trying another high run. When that never happened it only confirmed my thoughts as to that flight being a milk run.

Eagle I see him landing all the time with 2 or 3 kills in B-26s. You dont get that from milk running strats in the middle of no-where from 25,000'. To begin with the B-26 isnt the bomber for that. The guy has gotton almost as many kills as me this month flying far fewer sorties. And I havnt bombed a strat once. He has 86 kills, 35 deaths, all those ditched and bailed, out of 245 sorties, and probably add X 2 or 3 fighters hes sent running home with their pants on fire.
Look at everyone else ranked high and its like 15 sorties with 1 death, or 2 deaths and no kills. The rest of the top 10 look exactly the same, except for Lynx, and probably most of the other high ranked guys. They "look the same". So that tells me everyone else but Lynx is milk running bombers a few times a month for score whoring.
I aint naming names, putting anyone down, and Im sure a lot of these guys are fine sticks. A few I "know" are. But it is what it is.

I fully understand why you thought that. Had I been bombing strat in Bish HQ zone your assumption would have been 100% correct. However, Bish west zone strat needed some attention that day. CV came to close to target for me to do the return trip and gun the TG. Hardly anyone uses 8 inch. The most effective town killer on the fleet.
One of the reasons I like this game is because it's multifaceted. Games within a game. Ok, some guys only have 1 hour to play so don't get into looking beyond their gun site. Nothing wrong with that by the way. Some folk like me like to use all the options the game provides. Checkers and Chess if you like.
Not blowing me own trumpet now but when something needs to be done I generally end up doing it. Ever tried delegating strat targets in this game and be confident the target will be knocked down below the 50% thresh hold?

As for "Rank" it's oh so very simple if you play the whole game. If you only use fighters your rank will appear abysmal but you could well be an excellent stick.
If folk landed more and used a plane in the correct mode many guys rank would leap forward.
Oh, and "rank" is only good for one thing and that's CV command. Thank you very much :D

Hall of the colliding plane.
at least 70% of the time i get shot down, its by a guy who cant get his guns around and will intentionaly collide. now theres a gamer.intentionally colliding it order to get the kill. one more time...collsion model blows. both should go down. i dont care what they see. i know this belongs in another post. but enuff is enuff. people are abusing it.

In it will be all the "collision model sucks", "Firefly is too strong", "HE shouldn't kill tanks", "LA needs to be perked", "Spixteen needs to be perked", "rolling caps suck", "ENY ruining my day", "force them to play my way", and "We need the NOOK" players.
Feel free to add your own criteria to the list. :D

The idea of a Hall of Fame......is good on paper but I think it will cause more grief that good.

question: what exactly is considered milk running?
in bombers i usualy climb to at least 15k and go hit whatever
usualy towns or strats. sometimes hangers ords and troops.
i rarely see any fighters above me this is not my fault. if they dont want to get bombed they should climb to a good alt and intercept.
sigh: then maybe i could shoot someone down. and i would not feel so ignored and unwanted :aok

Milk Runs…Head Ons…..The list goes on and on. People are always find something to whine about.
Milk Runs - As LYNX stated, there is a purpose for hitting strats.....and yes, some of these strats are in deep within enemy territory. That is half the thrill....getting to your target, and returning home safe. After all....was this not the goal of WWII bomber crews?
HO’s – Holy crap....how many hours are wasted on Channel 200 biatching about these? The “shot on the merge” is and was a tactic used by BOTH Axis and Allies…….when the situation warranted it.
The current scoring system is not an accurate representation of a pilot. As I stated before, once you know the “little tricks”, then you will find yourself in the low numbers. In my humble opinion…..A bombing (Milk) Run is a tactic….and not a trick.

If you guys dont know im just joking around,i dont take it to heart,just goofing around to see how mad i can get people,it works well and me and some of my squadies get a kick out of it.And it's seemed it has been pushed to far,some of you know what i mean,and ive talked it over to others and im going to turn it down a bit.

I kinda busted Skyrocks stones yesterday challenging him to a match. I knew he'd had some issues, and once we had a somewhat unfriendly exchange. Anyway he voiced me direct and we had a short conversation. Skyrock is a really good guy I found out and it goes to show you how that com scroll, or this forum, really isnt a good medium to meet people. Kudos to AH for including actual voice comms in the game.
Im a bit of a stone buster myself but I'm glad I got a chance to talk to Skyrock. I think hes a gentleman.

As for you Vans...... you did manage to insult my Squadron one day, and that usually does not sit well with me. 99th been around for almost 10 years now...and we take pride, as does most Squads. I guess it was your way of trying to get me mad....and for a short time, you were successful. I then stepped back and looked at it.......well.....figured it was kind of trivial and wrote it off. Vans.....you are quite successful at getting under people skins...and it is good to know you have seen that, while it is fun...it can turn sour.
The game is that.....a game. 8.5 hours a day...I am working.....for that 1 or 2 hours a day that "the warden" gives me to game, I try to make it a positive experience. I do enjoy razzin you on coms....(ie: Nobody loves Vans....more than Vans)..... Fits....dont it?
I guess it comes down to this......treat people the way you want to be treated.. Text coms is a tough stage to launch humor.....sometimes people take things to heart or misunderstand your humor.
Baaaa.... nuff of that.
Vans..... keep being increadable........your, your biggest fan. :aok
SkyRock..... learn to fly, would ya.....geeez. :O
