I was looking at some pictures posted on the BBS (like Lengro's screenshots, in this thread (http://forums.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=220262)), and I thought that, despite I run the game with 1024 textures, planes don't look that good in my pc. Then i realized that, after installing v. 2.11 I didn't download the new Hi-res pack.... I did it now, but, the question is: can I simply install it and run the game, or should I do something else? Like deleting the cache folder?

delete the cache folder before installing it....an makesure at login main screen your video is still set for 1024 textures.......

Hmm...I installed it the other day, but didn't delete the cache folder.
Can I delete the cache folder and reinstall, or will just deleteing the cache folder now, work?

you probably know the following - but just in case:
for best visual quality of planes and vehicles - the 3 most important things are:
1) if you got a flat screen - ensure AH2 is running at the screens native resolution.
Not important with CRT screens - just run the highest resolution which gives you acceptable framerates.
2) use hires pack - if you are in doubt about the 1024 running ok - do a simple test: select one of the recently updated planes with default skin - spit, 109, Corsair or B-25.
Select 512 mode - from cockpit, look at left or right wing and take a screenshot (alt+s)
Now select 1024 mode and take the same screenshot.
Compare those two shots - the quality of the 1024 wing should look way sharper than the 512 wing.
3) Anti-aliasing setting. This can only be controlled from your graphic card driver settings.
Right click on your Windows desktop and select the controller for your graphics cards.
Select an anti-aliasing level of at least 4x (more than this doesn't do much for visible quality but can harm your framerate considerably.)
If the above is ok - the rest of possible graphics settings is of minor importance, (for planes and vehicles that is)
4) lengro looking at gians's avatar...... you were saying....???

you should be ok, but if you want you can delete the cache folder and when you open game to login screen it will automatically start redownloading the cache and near the end you will see it doing the hires cache stuff.........
( usually does this stuff if you go in and mess with video settings at this login screen as well )
