I tried to get on tonight (7:10) in Orange and was unable to for 20 minutes. Cap was at 320 but there was 335 people in there. I kept trying and when it finally came dn to 319 the cap was rasied to 420 I think and got in.
Once there i went to country status. What I seen was many people just sitting in the tower doing nothing, about 100 or more. 20 minutes later I went back to country status and seen more people on but about the same in the tower. Making an observation I realized that being Saturday night and knowing there is an arena cap problem, some people are finding ways around it.
Seems you can log in early, go to dinner, watch tv or whatever you want to do for a few hours and come back knowing your spot will be saved. You will absolutely not have a problem trying to get into the arena you want to be in because your already there.
Of course this also can have an effect on ENY but i can deal with that a lot easier than not being able to play because someone else is gaming my space.
With the exception of the mentally challenged and or ignorant that are sure to post it should be easy to see that Arena caps are causing many of us a problem obtaining the service we're paying for. I don't want to add to the problem by coming into AH 2 or 3 hours early, make some dinner, grab some beer and then hop on hoping the rest of my squad will be here but i'm wondering if that might not be a bad choice for me and my squad. This post may even add to the problem by just being here for the people to read that didn't know you could do that.
I really hope someone at HTC is willing to address the problem.
Pics of country status at 7:30 or so CST on a Saturday night
I may take a few more as the night progresses....if I can get back in that is.

Quote from HiTech taken from this thread. (http://forums.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=219005)
Has it ever occurred to anyone that all countries have approximately the same % AFK at one time? Hence this kicking AFK people will have no effect on ENY.
And it would also have almost no effect on getting into full arenas because other people will just take the AFK peoples place, and the chances of logging in and having a full arena are still the same. In fact since you have slightly lowered the total people on line, you have increased the chances of not being able to get into 1 of the arenas.
We have a classic case of giving the players what they ask for, would have the effect of not giving them what they really want.

uh huh, we need another thread on the same subject, on the same page.

later on the same night (look at clock) and the same 100 or more still in tower
It seems eny has nothing to do with how many are in the arena but how many are flying.
The fact still remains, Arena cap is not working as intended. It keeps players out that want to play and others in that have no intention on playing until ready.
HTC's rebuttal holds no water since it's just words to divert. I remember on AOL in 1995 having a system that booted you off because you were not on in an attempt to save you money. The tech does exist and is far from new.
Booting a player that is idol for more than 35 minutes could be acceptable and should not be defended in any way. Someone comes to the door log and greet them, dinner rdy log and eat and so on. If you need to relog whats the harm. Services rendered says nothing about being able to game the system in this way but does state you can fly what you want when you want in a squad you want and most of all, any time you want for a price.
Might seem like a whine to some but it's part of what i don't expect to see when i log on. YOU CAN NOT ENTER

That's because it's a big problem :aok

my problem is when the arena cap size changes back down to a lower number i always get a host lost message and discoed.
Then i can not get back in to that arena with my squad mates.

You can't do that because-you refuse to enter a different arena and your squad refuses to change arenas.
It sounds like its a personal choice you are complaining about friend.

Not to get off topic but the 15 and 45 minute timers on AOL weren't instituted to save you money. They were put in place because AOL had oversold their bandwidth and users couldn't log on for hours at a time.

HTC words are just to divert?
Honestly seems to make sense to me. If you have fewer people in the arena's caps are smaller. He seems to point out that both arena's would have roughly the same amount of afk'rs. However, with more members, the arena caps go up, so it lets more people in. If you boot the afk'rs, then you might make the numbers go down further...making 1 specific arena less available.
As I've said in other threads similar to this, I wouldn't mind seeing afk'rs kicked. I just fail to see how it helps. Maybe have a waiting list for arena, then again, that may only serve to make another arena less populated, and make the cap for the arena you are desperately trying to get into smaller.
Then again, maybe I'm just mentally challenged or ignorant.
