Title: Brag about your Turkey weekend bargins
Post by: Sundowner on November 25, 2007, 09:01:42 AM
Just one for me. I got a Seagate 500GB external drive for $79 after mail in rebate at Circuit City. (yeah, I know those mail in rebates suck..but still :) )

This thing is great. Already formatted in NTFS. I just plugged in the AC adapter and the USB connector and it was good to go! Already saved a disk image of my C: drive, backed up all the family photos and all my music and videos.

The idea of 500GB of storage just blows me away.
When I started out with PCs a 10 Mb drive was an awesome amount of storage space.

So what great deals were had by the rest of you?

Regards,
Sun

I got a very nice weekend away from the crowds, and it didn’t cost me a penny!

Wow, good deal Sundowner. Just the thought of shopping drains my energy more thoroughly than did watching "The English Patient" with my wife.

Hey sun just noticed your avatar and quote in your sig.  What did you think about how they series ended?  I just finished it about a month ago and after having read the first book over twenty years ago, I can't help but feel a little cheated...

I definately won't forget the ending...

I read 'em all including the last except for the very end of the last book. I just couldn't stomach King making it all about himself.

Indeed, Sluggish I was let down with the ending as well.

The idea of a continuous loop of events with no real closure seemed anti-climatic to me.

Overall though, I thought it was a great series and I was sad to see it end.

Anytime I see a gritty western now I think of Roland's world and smile.

Btw..here's probably the best reader produced video about the Dark Tower series around IMHO.
