Title: New Computer coming
Post by: Capgains on November 27, 2007, 02:52:13 PM
Are there certain files that I  can save to disk from my old computer that can be pasted into the intall on the new computer, so I don't have to reconfigure all of my planes, convergences, view head positions, stick settings and mappings etc.?

the settings folder
sights folder
planes skins
any custom maps or sounds you have installed

even better do like me
copy teh whole ah folder to a disc then just copy from the disk to new comp
i keep backup copies of every game and program i have
except for steam games like hl2

cause i can install that on any comp and have acess to all my games

I would add-

Save a copy of your sounds folder, if you use custom sounds.

And your films folder, if you care about those.

The sounds folder is a big one for me, since I'm on 28K dial-up.  Replacing it is a LONG PAINFUL download.

I'm actually better off to call a friend with highspeed, have him download it, drive an hour each way to pick up the disc or removable memory stick, come home, eat dinner, watch TV, take a nap, and then install it.  Much quicker than my dial-up.  No joke.
