45 minutes and 1 spit14 runsssssssssssssss, claims not looking for a fight. Pathetic! I'll leave tuesday for the kiddies.
-
LOL waaaaaaaa waaaaaa he didnt fight me!. i was there to find the NOE that kept flashing dar bar. I avoided u so i could find the others. I did, they all bailed when spotted LOL< flown 6 sectors NOE only to bail without fighting>. go cry up another river.
-
No I'll let immature individuals like you cry. I made a statement... if your unable to understand it then go somewhere else, possibly sesame street. They may be able to help you.
I was looking for a bunch of 38s that took off from the field they left. Followed them thinking they may be the bunch. They weren't. No idea what they were attempting.
-
sooooo.. the tuesday thing sucks because you somehow managed to fly for 45 miniutes and not get into a fight..
K:aok
-
lol, I remember that
correct me if im wrong, but isnt that about the route the NoE P-38's took?
I think you may have chose the wrong guys to follow if ya wanted a quick fight :)

Well, spent about an hour in there tonight with the big arena format and I had absolutely no problem finding something to shoot at. But, it was either horde or be horded and if AH goes this route as a normal 24/7 thing I'll be moving on to other games.

Went up for about an hour too. Same thing. Absolute mobs on one side, a few trying to stop it on the other. Never had so many guys pass me by going to look for the vulch.
Even the guys with alt and E would one pass, haul a** if you turned into them.
Saw a fair amount of guys landing lots of vulches. Oh well, if thats what the folks want, so be it I guess.
-
hmm...i found some good ole fashion furballs...6-7k down to deck... was good times. not a bad change of pace. I did not vulch once tonight...never had chance to...fight was always between the bases.

Must have been the timing and I picked a bad time. The numbers were off and I went to the low numbers crowd. Had two big dar bars to choose from, no little fights that I could find. Both the big ones were one-sided.
-
I just had bad luck myself...chasing dar bars all over the map..was pretty
much yawnsvile for me too. Weird thing was that the sides were roughly even
with about 200 per country.
-
guess I was lucky. Found plenty of fights.. tons of bad guys. I even killed a couple. fun stuff!
-
146-133-147 (did I get em right? it's 02:30 am and Im at work) was a three way furball the hour or so I was in there. Planes from 3 countries were fighting each other in one big rolling ball. THere were planes parked on top of the heap trying to pick and planes in furby's on the deck and all altitudes in between. If someone could't find a fight be it furby or 1v1 then IMHO they weren't looking for one.

AH, next tuesday put 600 people on a small map with 16 bases to each side and see if somebudy doesnt complain about finding intence fights and such, make shure theres alot of spawn points for us GVers to join in.
THAT would be wild and i bet some wont like it but it would go from one extreme to the other on map size so people can find out what they like or not for tuesday fight nights, its only for 24 hrs so let people try it and voice what they like better.
i had a fun time last night in a GV, dont know about the flyboys but im shure thell speak out later as some already have done so.
tuesday fight night, good idea, thanks AH had fun and well worth the money spent.:aok

Come on man, WW2 was all about massive air combat battles. Enjoy playing Hello Kitty 2.

nice missions last night btw Kazaa :aok

Titanic Tuesday was great, but you better be ready to fight. Furballs were intense. Got killed alot, killled a few. What a hoot!
-
Had a good hour or 2 myself.
Did 2 porking runs in a pony wich resulted 1 cap, stopped a vulch fest over a rook base and won 2 3v1's. As stated before allot of people where haulers.

I didn't really have time to fly last night, but I really did want to see how things would shake out.
I logged in around 1930 eastern, and manned a field gun for about 20 mins defending a port. Got 3 while I was watching the map.
It looked to me that everyone pretty much went back to the "old way", the huge hordes avoiding each other. Gone were the little fights that were happening around this same maps last week.
I get tired of furballs real fast. My aim stinks, so I have to saddle up for a bit to kill a guy, and in most cases that opens me up to a "tail" of bad guys. So the fun doesn't last for me.
We all know HTC split the arenas because the way the community went "bad" with the big numbers. Hordes avoiding each other, vulch fests, ganging and so on. Its up to the community to make these "Titanic Tuesdays" to work, or you may loose them again.
Is the trill of this game capturing a base by steam rolling it, or is the thrill earning that base by battleing for it? Some of the best nights of flying in AW were when some of the bigger squads went head to head. Slam them hordes into each other !!! Is your team good enough to triumph over the other, or is your team a coward, can't handle the pressure, weeny type team?
-
I have some mix feelings on my experiences in the arena.
While it was great to see 600+ people in the arena I found I was quickly surrounded by a bunch of new people that I have never seen before. Not sure if it was the same on the Knights and Rooks side, but there where a lot of new guys with the standard new guy questions.
I engaged a Tempest with my Pony, put a couple of rounds in him, then the temp and his pony buddy ran away. Disappointed.
Then the hordes where in full effect, seems like I spent the whole night bouncing from one base to the other to find NOE 110 raids.
I wasn't looking to furball, I was just basically looking for a good fight, all I found was hordes. At one point I counted seven guys chasing my A-20. Oh well, maybe tuesdays will be spent in Mid-War.

I was 1/2 sector south of them...... the group I was looking for were on a CM mission. After I upped I found out the CM mission was south, however, the 38s I heard about took off from the base I left so I was hoping the group I was trying to catch was 38s. That group stayed way north and ended up out in the boondocks.... like I said "absolutely no idea what they were looking for in that area. I kept thinking they would turn south.
The first plane I see, a spit, just passes right by and keeps going. Some like to fight some don't. The spit as it turned out was whels and he was looking for that group I was shadowing. No big deal as long as it stays a one night thing.
Taking away choices just seems like a backwards move. Before if you didn't like the terrain you could switch, if the numbers were way off you could switch. The 80th will always go to the lowest number side to find more fights. In this instance I went to rooks who were far outnumbered at that time. I ended up not locating either the CM mission or the 38 group. Bad night all around.

That about sums up my hour online last night as well. Tried to fight off the horde, only to find vulchers HOers rammers and runners.
Was nice to see that many people in one arena again, with a fairly even number split. Although it wasnt much fun getting ganged, hopefully things will calm down in upcoming Titanics.
Not going to give up on this idea after one go-round.
-
If you get ganged by the horde, then you may need to work on your SA.
-
Had fun! A small map would have been even more fun.
-
Yea, just like whenever you die you made some mistake that made it possible.
For example, your first mistake was not picking the LA-7.
Gimme a break.
-
It is absolutely impossible to fly on that map with the channelled front having dar bars two sectors wide and not be able to get into a fight unless you are trying to avoid the group. Now if you go looking for a one versus one fight of course you should expect to be disappointed because unless the other guy is looking for the same thing you may have a problem pinning him down.
-
I enjoy a little of both. The 1 on 1 fights against skilled pilots are always an adrenaline rush. But a good old fashion furball tweaks my fancy as well. But after playing this game for years I've learned that you cannot have it both ways. If you enjoy the 'chivalry' of 1 on 1 combat with no HO's, then the AvA seems to be clearly the best choice. However, the numbers for that arena make fights far and few at times. So many head over to the MA and have to deal with congo train strategy.
I did enjoy the increase in the number of missions posted as we had a larger player base to pool for pilots. This was a large bonus for me.

I was up on the East side of rook land trying (unsuccessfully) to take V69... As much as I dislike the rooks I've got to give them a for the best Vbase defense I've ever seen! Multiple layers, ground and air! Say what you want, you don't see that kind of defense in depth on the "normal" MA maps. Having 700 players on 1 map makes the whole map a HUGE battle. If sombody couldn't find a fight they were not looking... I couldn't avoid a fight on the ground or in the air. Zero "cheap" captures on T.Tuesday... Kudos to HTC for the idea! It was fun and I look forward to next Tuesday... [whispers]... Mindinao

i had plenty of fun. Never once even got the oportunity to vulch or attack a field. The knits were attacking in waves, which made it fun to burn up fuel and ammo, reload, and repeat!
no problems here!

It was definally fun MajIssue, First I was in a Panzer then got bombed by an F4u-4, came back in a Spit 14 but F4u ran off, then CV came to A50 (a field next to 69) so i defended that, it was quite an interesting night!
I being a rook did NOT have trouble finding a bish or knit horde, so if im being horded, there is a fight somewhere, best thing to do is look at your map.
I logged off an hour ago bish/rook front at A80/A73 was still going at it (been that way since 2am)
-
I had a great time and no problems finding fights.
I started out with some Knight buff hunting on the Bish Western front as Knights tried (and did) capture a base from us (which we captured right back). There went 2-3 missions.
Then I joined the furball in the middle of the map. Great fun! There went several missions.
Then I moved south to try defending another base against Knights. That might have been the most fun as it was never more than 1, 2 or 3 on one but there was a constant line of guys coming in to fight.
Finished it off there and logged after 4 hours of continuous fighting.

So why complain about the spit that ran? You could have given chase and downed it. Also the options are still there, AvA, Early, Mid. Oh, forgot, those aren't the options YOU (meaning those grumbling about T.T.) want.

The three way furball was partially compliments of Luftmorder. I bombed the bish base to the east all day and kept it pretty much flat until enough of the nit boneheads to the north figured it out and finally took it.
Was overhead in another bomber when the base was won and made the suggestion to take the base to the east so we could have a fighter town. Most of the fighters did a rearm and moved east to take it. I dropped the vh, 2 fighter hangers and softened the third. Bish base fell soon after and fighter town was born.
Never saw soooo much red in one furball for the rest of the evening while I was on. Had a great time there honing my dying skills.

Way easier to milkrun in split arenas...
-
was almost non-stop furball wherever I went with the squad... great fun overall, numbers swang both ways each time.
-
I guess I'll chime in..
I tried a little of everything.. and managed to get what I wanted in all cases..
first I did a little squad action, base cap.. that worked out, the took the yak up and skimmed the edge of the "horde" areas and managed to get into a few deacent fights (1v1 or 2v2) .. took up some 88s for a nice quiet milk run to the a knight refinery.. then re-upped in the yak and went straight into the middle of the chaos for some good ole fashoned mayhem..
I had no problems at all finding the fights I wanted..
if you dont want a furball .. find a "horde" situation and up from a base a sector or 2 out from it and skim the edge of the action.. you'll pick something up.. dont go too deep in though or youll pick something up and 5 of his friends..
I really like Titanic Tuesday.. its kinda a win win.. its a change, thats to be sure, and something different.. and if its not your cup of tea.. well its only 1 day a week..

I had a blast. It was awsome to see 600 plus players on and the sides be distributed fairly even. Each side had approximately 200 on. This usually doesn't happen in the split arenas where you tend to have numbers a little more lopsided. For those that couldn't find a fight it was at A22 and 23. I didn't see hording as everyone is putting it I say some massive air battles in three or four different locations. The battle at A22 and 23 was pretty even beteen knights and rooks and gravitated back and forth between the two bases. After about an hour the Rooks started coming in from the eeast to change it up and we were able to hold a cap on 23 for about 10 minutes, but it changed pretty quickly when they decided they didn't want us there.
I liked the fact that it was very difficult to sneak bases and I saw a lot of NOE missions being called out and defended. Was good time in my book.
