As some of you know I logged in last night on my laptop from the hospital where I was with my son for his sleep test. He's 7 years old and stops breathing in his sleep. We had to do this sleep test so that the doctor had documentation to be able to have a good reason to take his adnoides and tonsils out. So in the next couple weeks we will be going thru alot. He's my baby and it was really hard to see him hooked up to all them wires last night. We are now at home and very happy to be cuz hospitals stink..hehe
I just want to say that I am greatful to everyone in the community that was showing me support for myself and my son as we go thru this. This is what makes me play AH, its the loving thoughful community that come together and give thought to those who need it. My son will be fine but I just wanted to say to yall thank you very much. <3!

Hang in there Betty, there are better days to come!
If he was a good little man I hope you got him ice cream after.
-
Betty, I'm fairly new here (over a year or so), but have to agree, this is a great community. My prayers go out to you and your family.
Best of luck!

Sorry to hear Betty. It sounds like sleep apnea but I didn't realize that could affect someone that young. I've dealt with it for 10 years. Shoot me a PM if ya wanna chat.
Double dose of prayers comin yer way.

Hey Betty :aok
-
ahh...so that was the sleep talk!
I missed it in all the spam and fighting, and saw people saying G'luck, but didn't know why.
I'm sure he'll do fine, Betty. I'm betting he's a tough little Dude!:aok It's probably gonna be tougher on you, than it will be on him.
Give him a noogie from Ol' Keirg, and tell him to "rub some dirt on it";)
As far as you...keep a stiff upper lip. I know how hard it is to see your kiddoes go through this kinda stuff.

I remember getting my adenoids taken out as a small child. I mainly remember the foot long needle they stuck in my thigh to put me to sleep. I screamed like a b*tch.
-
Getting your adnoides and tonsils taken out isn't the most horrible thing to go through. i had the same problem when i was younger. My throat hurt, but the doctor said i had to eat a lot of ice cream so that made up for it:D You and your family are in my prayers. good luck

My family will include you and your son in our prayers Betty.
Hope that all goes well. Having a sick child is always tough.
I have a friend who has spent right at 3 million on his three year old with no end in sight.
-
The best thing for him is to get those things out. My son was the same way and could not sleep and would stop breathing for about 20 seconds. Very scarey. My son got them out last year and he is a new boy full of energy, piss and vinegar. He is even beating me in the DA which is (as all you know) is not hard. Hang in there Betty. It is for the best. I had a hard time with it to. Your baby and all. Hang tough the old JUGMAN and others have your emotional six. Cowboy up babe he will do fine.
As always a JUG lover

best of luck for your son, betty. I had my adenoids out when i was a child, similar to ColSuave all i can remeber is eating lots of icecream.:D My Grandma gave me so much Arctic Roll (a british icecream), i don't ever think i enjoyed visiting my grandparents as much as that week.

Hiyas Stampf!! :)

Good luck with your son betty!
Hope everything works out in the end!
Your son will be in my prayers.

Dam. I had not idea Betty. That's gotta be rough on the little guy :(.
It will all work out in the end though and things will be back to where they should be :aok
Cheers,

Betty:
Prayers and well wishes for you and your son. My 4 year old had a sleep test conducted about a 3 weeks ago. Confirmed that the tonsils and adnoids need to come out too.
We've scheduled the surgery for early January to let him have a good Christmas. We're told by our medical staff that the procedure is relatively straight forward but it's the 2-week recovery that's the rough time for the kids so to prepare for that. Poor kid :(. Something about being a parent that just causes my heart to ache to put my son through that. I suppose there's a lot worse things to have to go through but it doesn't take away the pain to have to put your child through some misery.
We'll pray all goes well with you and your son. Please do the same for us!

Good luck to you and your son.
Like I said last night, went through the exact same thing with my son (no sleep test, just a camera up his nose to see the 100% blockage). After they removed his adnoids/tonsils, I would get up in the middle of the night to make sure he was ok because he wasn't snorting/snoring anymore.
It really helped in school too; he was much alert since he wasn't exhausted from not sleeping through the night.
Take care and >S<

Ive had a similar experience. Its a scary feeling. Hope all is well.
-
well were home...i was home when i posted this...ty all for being so caring. we just play the waiting game now for the results and more doctors appointments.
-
Hope they can find a problem Betty, because that way they can fix it. If they dont find anything then you still have be wondering what is wrong. My oldest daughter when she was 10-12 thought she had heart problems and had a bunch of doctors thinking that way too. Did all the stress tests and stuff and they sent us home to watch her. Come to find out she had panic attacks, lol which made her heart act weird. But we didnt find this out until a few years later.
She learned when she was having one and then mentally fixed it. She now has a masters degree and is a child psychologist lol.
-
nice rondar!
well they told me he deffinatly has to have his adnoids and tonsils out, they also said he doesnt breath well in his sleep and well....thats where the 293 times he stopped breathing comes from......*taps foot* so we just waiting now ....

i don't have any kids.....but had mom in the hospital a couple weeks ago with a bit of a heart flutter.....and i have a really hard time with hospitals, then seeing her hooked up....so i still know how ya feel.........but the best three things going for your son? 1) he's young,,,,,,they bounce back like there's no tomorrow. 2) he's a boy...so he's invincible...3) he's lucky enough to have a very caring mother....and obviously a very cool mother too.
be strong, and good luck, wish you the best!
