Title: EVE Online
Post by: Tiger on November 28, 2007, 09:22:48 AM
Someone who shall remain nameless was discussing EVE Online the other day while we were climbing out.  So I decided to give it a whirl...

I'm only a few days into it, but man is that game sweet.  Deep, complex, no grind, and open.  What else could you look for in a MMO.

You talking about wife ack from hell?!?!?!  Between AH2 and EO, I am catching it like crazy...  anyone know of any divorce lawyers that will take ISK as payment?  I might need one if I continue.

There's a grind. A horrible, never ending grind. You just haven't seen it yet.

The entire point of the game is to make isk. You either have to mine, rat, research, trade, pirate, run missions... but it's always a grind. The methods going about each profession are radically different, but they're still a grind.

What?  There's no welfare program for those who wish to remain non-productive?  Where's the realism in that???

And no jedi...

Horribly repetitive game. You'll be done soon. Plus once everything you've done in a month is taking away in minutes by raiders... you'll delete that pos.

I'll complete what Viking said about the "no grind" and complete it with a

:rofl :rofl then :cry then :furious :furious (been there done that).

All MMORPG are huge time sinks. There are better things to waste your life into, IMHO.

Eve is fun for awhile, but to make it last you HAVE to get in with a good corp... without the social interaction and group effort/planning/strat etc, it gets horribly old very fast.
