Title: Packers At Dallas
Post by: FBplmmr on November 29, 2007, 04:58:52 PM
I'm excited!

With everybody at work talking about the game, and also where I stopped for a cold beverage on the way home, it's like a mini-Super Bowl!!

I did pick up an extra pack of bratwurst and have put in a leave slip for tomorrow!

the Shiner Bock is cold, sausages are on standby to be broiled, Chips and dips ready to be dispensed.  All I have to do is get home without an accident...  very much feels like a mini-super bowl...

Personally..for it NOT to be on national TV is a travesty.

There have been a few regular season games this year that have been almost as exciting to see as a SuperBowl...Dallas v Green Bay was one that unless you have DishNetwork...your out of luck.

Having to have DishNetwork and the like to see a regularly scheduled weekday game is insane....(Unless the NFL is in bed with satallite tv services).

I do not think CBS Sports should even be allowed to carry NFL games.

All day last week, CBS touted on how it was airing the Indianapolis game at 7:00 Central, and went on to air some lame Survival re-cap episode of stuff that Survivor viewers had already seen instead....then on to other lame programming.

Fox & ESPN have shown themselves to be the new bearer of NFL games.  Let people who know what they are doing air the games.

ABC kissed goodbye to NFL MNF, and with good reason...rating slumped as many NFL fans did not like EGOMAN Brent Michaels calls, and the constant turn-over of color commentary side-kicks (many who personally disliked Michaels' EGO...and his penchant for getting some of the best color folks run off the show).

The era of Howard, Dandy Don & Company, et al  MNF was over.

This will play itself out, and the best medium for the games will be dictated by ratings and ad dollars in the end.

My hope is that Fox Sports & ESPN win out.  At least you can see most of the best match-ups if you have cable.

My pick on the game....Dallas 28--GB 21....

Dallas handicap 2.5 to 1, home field advantage and ROMO is on a TEAR.  Don't take a point spread higher than that if you are "wagering".

Farve has never won in Dallas, but I'd pony up the hot sauce to put on my hat while I eat it if GB wins!

I live 4 hours from Dallas, put prefer Prince Brent & The Cheddar-Heads.

Either side....good luck and enjoy the game...(IF you can see it).

Go Pack Go! (in Lambeau rythym)  ...there's nothing like a game at Lambeau!

My entire season in one pick'em football pool lies on this game(pretty much)

If the Pack wins, I stand alone in first place out of over 200 people.  If they lose, I drop down to third.

Collinsworth is terrible......

Gumble suks......

Collinsworth....says....Well Greenbay stopped Dallas that last drive....Lets recap.....

1st play 47 yard completion to Owens.....1st down....

1st down...Barber slips...loses 2 or 3 yards...

2nd down Romo COMPLETELY misses a WIDE FRIKIN OPEN whitten...incomplete....

3rd down...Romo COMPLETELY MISSES A WIDE OPEN Whitten AGAIN....punt....

BOTH PASSES WERE PLENTY for 1st downs......

SO....Green Bay stopped em? Looked like Dallas stopped themselves.

Collinsworth is an idiot.

All you Charter haters should read the full page ad they took out in the DFW papers. "Sorry satellite, Charter's got the game!!!"

They forgot to mention it was the simulcast on KDFI-TV27. Whenever a game is on cable, they allow 1 broadcast station to show the game in the home towns. I think it's an FCC rule.

It hurt, but not 4th and 26 hurt.  Mainly because it was still a regular season game.  If that was the NFC championship game, I may have seen grown men cry, possibly myself.

yea...go cowboys AND refs.  hard to beat cowboys and the refs. instant replay is worthless with crooked refs. last time i seen officiating like this was when i'd watch olympic boxing abd basketball.
basically sports are for bookies and suckers. i stopped watching sports for years because of crooked refs. NBA is prolly the worst. when theres this much money on the line it cant be honest. that crooked ref that got caught is only the tip of the iceberg. i've been saying for years..the league has already picked a winner before the season even starts. and god forbid that team to have a lousy climate.
i saw this before many times. the latest was when milwaukee bucks were beating the 76's few years back in the semi-finals.they were up 3-1 when after the game the league said milwuakee winning was not good for the league because of a small market. the 6'ers won the next 3 games ina  row. ex. #2..terrel owens  runs out of bounds after a catch comes back in and scores.all on instant replay..was not over turned.knocking the pack out of the playoffs. micheal jordan decides to come back and play for the wizards..who gets first round pick?? suprise!! all done behind closed doors.
the league plays king maker and they only decides who wins and whats best for the league.
i quit watching for years all sports. this years i said i will give it another try.well it didn't last long and i see things havnt changed. i'm done.

68Wooley, my squad brother from my ancesteral homeland of Scotland...<>

Green Bay won the first few national titles under the legendary head coach Vince Lombardi in the 1960's.

Dallas won some national title in the 1970's and '80s under legendary coach Landry.

Dallas' record this year is very good, and so is Green Bay's.

The game should have been nationally televised.  It was a total cluster that it wasn't.

Many fans from the MidWestern US back Green Bay, and many southern US fans will side with Dallas......despite the fact that Dallas (and the Raiders) have the most hated ratings amongst fans in America.

Dallas v Green Bay was a national game that was only seen by folks who have satellite tv.....a travesty.

It was the same as having our football playoff games only seen by people who can copy Morse Code at 45 words a minute or more.

look at it like this ..football is a bizness.your in biz' to make money.
who do you think the league would rather see in the super bowl....
green bay-new england? green bay w/a population of 100,000 and milwaukee about 750,000 people.not a larger audience and commercials would prolly be cheaper to puchase. or..
dallas-new england. whos mexico nfl team? the cowboys. the game will be televised all through out mexico. millions of viewers. you already see spanish commercials during football of NBC. the price of a commercial goes up millions.

It's ok to cuss the refs a bit ftdeep but it's kinda silly to go off the deep end about it. If you think football is rigged, why watch?

I usta go to the cotton bowl to watch the Cowboys play and I remember quite well the "ice bowl" in '67. I'm pretty confident we're gonna see a rematch between these teams in the playoffs. Should Green Bay win you may find yourself owing the NFL an apology?
