Title: The Mist
Post by: BlueJ1 on November 30, 2007, 08:30:21 PM
I highly recommend yall go out and see the move The Mist. I wont spoil it for yall. But it has one of the best and most messed up endings Ive ever seen. Has its dumb parts where you'll laugh at the actors. But overall everything else from the twists to the story completely makes up for it.

 :aok

did you read the story?  How does the movie compare?  I'm considering seeing it, its just so easy for some of these directors to screwup a Stephen King story...

Good movie...the monsters looked a lil cheesy at some points but the psychological implications of it were amazing.  The ending is different from the Stephen King(not as open-ended) version.

Sadly, it doesn't even compare to the story.  The ending is nothing like the story and is quite........ stupid.

The director didn't like how King ended the story so he made it abit different. He showed it to King and King loved it and wished he had written it that way.

I thought it was VERY good.

Hehe Rightf00t..I started the applause the night we went to see it. It was sweet relief :)

I liked it alot. Seems like there is a connection between the "things" in the mist and the place in the Gunslinger where they are on Blane and look out at see things in the strange area.

I was in a convenience store last week and S.K. was gassing up. He lives fairly close. Hes lookin a lil old now.

There are several connections between the Dark Tower series and other SK books, like The Stand, Hearts of Atlantis, The Black House, etc

i've got a lot of his books including the one that is in. I saw the commercials and thennread the story. the only way a movie based on a SK book is good is if they hold true to the book.

I did ~ was that Stephen King? I'll be surprised to hear if it was ~ that was a great movie.

I was really thinking of 'Dreamcatcher' and the like.

p.s. at a glance that looks like 'shawk' redemption

The Green Mile and The Running Man were also his.  He has written many outside the horror genre.

Don't forget...  "Stand by Me" as well.

One cool SK movie I remember was Maximum Overdrive. I still enjoy catching that one.

BlueJ1 what's that icon? I like that.

The place was packed to the gills with Navy guys. And the whole place broke into applause and cheering when that event happened. The only other movie Ive been to where the audience has cheered or clapped was 300.

Stephen King :rofl
His endings should be refered to in all dictionaries and encyclopedias under the entry for "corny".  "Bull**** writer" indeed.
From Night Flier to Needfull Things to Dreamcatcher to 1408, and every other I've read and watched, the trend never ends.

Correction. A large number of people including myself clapped at the end of Pearl Harbor. Glad it was over.
