In the logs I found this entry under Japanese..
! 347th Fighter Group !
68KO
22:08:05 Departed from Field #13 in a Gunner-Observer
22:18:25 Vanished without a trace.
22:19:30 Departed from Field #13 in a Gunner-Observer
22:41:20 Vanished without a trace.
22:42:28 Departed from Field #10 in a Gunner-Observer
22:50:25 Was shot down by unknown enemy.
347th was an Allied Squadron - NOT AXIS.... Yet it would appear 68KO was riding along on the Japanese team for the first hour of the event!
Can someone check to see if this is correct? If so, its very disturbing.
-
It may have been his wife. She checks in at times I believe. Somebody in the know may be able to help fill the story.
-
-
Kurt,
68KO was/is 68KO's widow. See was just observing. Not sure why see was unable to switch to the bishop team, but she was not a spy. Falcon run's a class outfit with the 68th/347th.
I agree that it would have been best for her to switch to the same side as the rest of the 68th, but I do not believe anything was harmed by her observations.
Edit: also wanted to mention that there was a number of gate crashers tonight that I noticed. These individuals who either weren't in proper uniform or were in a uniform of an unregistered FSO squad kept our host CM busier than he should have been.
-
That is Sue she pops into the events some times to say hi to folks and watch the events. Believe me you have nothing to worry about.
-
I'll take that on your good word ForHim... But thats the kind of stuff that can undermine the whole event...
Perhaps someone should set her up an account for that kinda stuff?
-
Kurt - It may be that you don't know the KO story. Have a search through threads and you'll see that your fears are misplaced.
-
Anytime you see "68KO" logged in, it is 68KO's widow. coming to FSO to watch.
She is a really nice lady that has decided to pop into AH from time to time to see what her late husband loved about AH so much.
She is an honored guest, and is welcome no matter what side see happens to show on.
She has a minimal understanding of AH and is no threat to the integrity of the event.
IF ANYONE has a problem with that you may talk to me directly.
-
Kurt please check your PMs

-
Kurt you are welcome to meet me on 202 VOX in the SEA right now.
I see you are on line at this time.
If you don't then....... (OK I'll edit mine for the betterment of humanity to.)
:)
-
Although in this case, Sue is 100% a non threat, I do have to agree with Kurt that the squads really need to keep tabs on their roster, it can undermine the credibility of an event if it were just about anyone else but Sue.
Good thing to remind all the players about, we have a no walkon rule and a no launching after the action starts for a reason. Too easy to disco just as the action starts, if you are about to die off. Too easy to log in "late" and launch after starting on the wrong side and seeing where the fleets have spawned too.
Too easy to lose credibility, even when most of the situations are perfectly harmless. We aren't close enough to look each other in the eyes and shake hands, the only thing we have to back up credibility is actual actions. Worthy of an extra moment to keep tabs on things.

If don't then shut it.
Uh, First of all, I was in the other room sitting with my girlfriend watching a simpsons rerun... sorry the delay on the time out showed my name on the list.
Secondly, I'd like to thank you for your expertly adult reaction to my valid remarks. shut it
.
I'm not soiling the reputation of Sue or 68ko... I'm simply pointing out that there is a flaw here that needs looking at.
-
Actually it looks like your post was just before mine, I'll come discuss, and you can explain why you think your 'shut it' remark was a reasonable response for an adult while we are there.
-
Kurt and I talked,
I want to apologize for telling him "Shut-it"
That was unnecessary.
However I felt that if Sue reads this post. (god i hope not)
that she would feel that she had done something wrong, and break off her association with AH. And that would be a terrible shame.
Kurt pointed out a valid concern and we will try to guard against it.
-
Sled and I discussed this in Vox and I think we came to some kind of clarity.
SO I want to make clear to Sue and everyone else, reading this thread that my concern here is purely generic. I do not have any specific concern with what happened tonite. And I'm not concerned about the use of the 68KO account by sue to visit.
I hope everyone is crystal clear about that and I'd like to extend an apology to anyone who felt I was out of line.
Sled and I also discussed some ways to prevent a misunderstanding like this happening again, and I hope he'll have some luck making that happen.
68KO, Sue...

Thanks for your understanding Roc.

Actually, like this thread, why?
I think it shows that if you have a serious problem with someone or something on the BB's, and you really are interested in solving it, get on some form of VOX communication and talk about it.
You will be amazed at how fast a resolution can be achieved if you TALK to someone. Pounding on a keyboard is a little to detached, it is way to easy to say things you wouldn't say if you are TALKING to someone. Plus in VOX people hear your inflection and emotion. and that means a lot.
I want to thank Kurt for talking to me. It was what this situation needed.

You're welcome, and you're correct, it was needed...sorely...
This was the kind of discussion that could have degenerated for days into name-calling and chaos.
While I didn't appreciate the words you used to call me into that chat, I'm glad you suggested handling it in vox.

Hey, if this is starting to go down the way it sounds, I'm getting nervous... There better be a least a strong drink involved.
-
Wow, look what happens when I sleep in and try to do some yard work. Jeesh.
Since it has been fixed, I will not elaborate more than this....
I knew about it....
I didn't believe to be an issue....
Please, if anyone has an issue that needs addressing, my email is in my siggy. Please utilize email to contact me prior to coming here. NOT a knock on Kurt, just saying as we go forward.
Thanks!
:aok
P.S. I think a Kurt and SLED hug is in order :D

If you'd looked a little farther you would have seen this as well.

Why not just ask me? I would have cleared it right up. A private PM would have been in order and probably saved some very hurt feelings all the way
around.
Thanks Kurt
