on 18 March 1945 Mustangs from the 359th FG escorting B-17s deep into Germany encountered and bounced some Yak9Ms and La-3s mistaken as 109s and 190s. anyone interested may read of the account in this month's Flight Journal (http://www.flightjournal.com).
I propose that the three countries be activated in the AvA for this event. I suggest the following plane set.
Russians
Yak9U
Yak9T
La-5
Americans
P51B
P51D
B-17
Germans
109G6
109G14
109K4
Fw190A5
Fw190A8
Fw190D9
what say you's?

P-47D-40/D-25 should be added. Maybe P-38L to.

I'll run it as written on Friday, Storch. Let's keep it historical this time, we can add the 38s and 47s later for fun.

Here's an issue for public consideration between now and Friday:
The Rhine winter map has air starts, but realistically only two countries can use them (download the rhinewin map and look at it offline; the air start bases have little blue checkerboard things near them).
We can activate a few third-country bases in and about different areas of the map so that the three-sided war can be conducted. In fact, it's relatively easy to change ownership of any bases. (Not place new bases on the existing maps, you understand, but change ownership of some of the ones that are there.) Give the map a look, let us know where you think likely spot might be located.
