you can make a functional firearm out of pipe and hardware laying around and... a plastic bottle will suffice to make a silencer.

I dunno, shake the can first and then pop it and not sure that rig can handle the recoil.  :huh

I once had a silencer and wanted to mount it on my .22 magnum, but the gunsmith told me that since it ws supersonic, it wouldn't work.
Tried some ptarmigan sniping with a normal .22 long (subsonic) with a silencer, it was a little "pop" and the click of the bolt, then you really could hear the bullet whizzing.
Wonder wat a pepsi will add to this thing :D
