Title: Free Memory
Post by: WWM on December 03, 2007, 12:19:49 PM
I'm doing a memory upgrade to 2G and will have two banks of 256mg DDR 2 SDRAM I will Ship out for the cost of shipping to someone who might NEED them to help with his or her own computer.  It is coming out of a Dell Inspiron 9300 notebook.

** I am doing this as a good deed to help someone if it is needed.  Please don't say you need it then turn around and sell it to try to make money.

Well i would say i probably would need it alot.

But i doubt my box would hold em. Since in fact i'm running AH on a P3 999mhz Cpu :(.

Any clue if those would work on a old P3 WV?

Your Computer  p3 933 Mghz will not work with DDR 2 Memory.

I would suggest that you take and get you a barebones kit from frys and a case,

Motherboard CPU Combo and then you can build your computer off of it.

Check out http://www.frys.com and check their specials, and they also deliver.

Your computer is about 7+ years too old.  Your computer uses SDRAM yet.  And cheers for getting AH to run on that box :)

GL to anyone who needs it, you actually might have a hard time finding someone who can actually use it (or at least both chips).  Most laptops that shipped with DDR2 512mb of RAM.  There aren't many 256mb laptops that run DDR2 because system were putting in more RAM when they shifted from DDR to DDR2.  And since most laptops have only 2 slots, it'll be tough to find someone.  Of course this is all from my own personal experiences from upgrading laptops over the years for friends and family.  I have actually a lot of lower capacity DDR and DDR2 Notebook chips that I don't have a use for or no one needs because RAM is cheap and 2Gb of DDR2 is about $50 now.

I got some PC100/133 stuff that isn't guaranteed to work. Was planning on giving it to our school; the "learner" computers use it and we're running out.
