Is there a way (dot command, or a setting) that will allow an observer that's joined to a pilot see the same view that the pilot has selected (i.e., so when the pilot looks up left, the joined pilot view switches to upper left view?)

Nothing that I'm aware of. I don't believe any of the pilot stuff is relayed between FEs.

Warbirds used to have dot ----> . masterview. A.H hasn't got it but there are so many more view sets or styles of view I guess it wouldn't work.
I have 12 preset views before I even mess with the keyboard. An observer with just 4 or 8 presets wouldn't see my views. Also some guys look along their nose in the forward left or right others just look forward L / R. Then there's Track IR type systems.
When I have watched films from the other players view I'm often confronted with a view of the head rest when they take their shot. Maybe their IR or some strange standing up view on a throttle hat switch. Whatever it is I know I don't use that preset view so can't see it.
