This is not a problem but just an observation.
I recently upgraded from ie 6 to IE 7. Prior to this I only had about 31 processes running in the background, afterward it was 45. Yikes!! And I was so happy that I built my computer so it wouldn't have all the unneeded applications on it.

IE7 seems more of a nuisance than a help. It's not even much of an upgrade from 6.x. My mother and some of my sisters have it installed, and there's been more than one time they'd ask me something like "Why does it do this stupid thing?" and basically the answer was "IE7 is installed"...
Mind you, nothing major, just a nuisance. Stick with 6.x if you can.

Can I do a restore to get rid of it?

I would suppose so. I don't know; I haven't tried it.
