Would it be possible to add a function where if you get discoed you remain in flight on auto climb on the heading you were on when you lost your connection and and be able to back into your plane when you can log back in? This might help the frustration factor when you are on a long mission only to have to start from scratch... also its not really fair to loose the perk points if your in a perk bird when you get discoed. Where the hell did the term "discoed" come from anyway?

People would quickly abuse this feature. Deliberate disco when the odd's arent good, continue at same point 5mins later...

Similar reason. Before they get shot down or crash, and die and lose their pretty perks, people would just disco.

well yes people would abuse it if you let them
but say maybe you code disco protection where it is not enabled if you are damaged under ten minutes fuel or within intercept range of eneme fighters say 5 or 6k?
maybe that would work.
i disco so often because of computer issues that i never fly perk planes anyway. so no bigge here.

If Lusche sets my B24 on fire, and I get discoed, would that be considered a "Disco Inferno?"
(I know, that was really bad.:o :p )

:huh
Somebody pass the tequila...

surely if someone turns off his computer at the back as he has to get away in a hurry then it would just really confuse the system. We would have hundreds of landed kills that were even easier to get than "afk kills".

When you log in, it choses the port # according to how many people are in the arena. If you disco'd and tried to log back into that same port number, you'd probably hang the entire system.
I just don't think they will ever change the network code that drastically just so you don't have to restart. Sorry but in my almost 8 years of experience here I just do see HTC doing that for what is a relatively minor annoyance.

I don't think this feature will come online because the server systems have to "guess" where you were headed and keep displaying your plane on it's way to your destination, almost like warping. If there were lots of disco's during rush hour the systems could overload and crash.
