Hey guys, what are the possibilities of getting a few more GV options? Listed below are some examples of tanks that could be fun to have if the technical side of getting them in the game is not to much:
1. Panther (would have to be a perked ride)
2. M-4A3E8 sherman (a.k.a. Easy 8)
3. M-24 Chaffee
4. M-10 Wolverine
Also what is everyone's opinion on making the perk points for the Firefly a little higher? The firepower of the Firefly is just about as good as the Tiger and it almost does away with taking a tiger out if it costs 20 or more perks compared to a sherman with a cost of 5-8!
Just soem thoughts for you guys to ponder.

ya more perks to use a fire fly :)

I think they should give the VC firefly a higher perk value to,for the reasons you listed i think it should be like 19-24 range something like that.just my thoughts
ps:im all in favor of the panther, the other ones i don't know enough about.

Agree with you on this. I can lose a Sherman, but regain the perks by killing one plane in an M16, no matter if I landed the kill or not. Whoopdedoo!

I would support the Firefly having a higher perk cost or Tigers getting lowered a bit more to even things out between them.

Yeah definately need the Panther. It would have to be a perk tank because in real life it had a semi stabilized gun system that could actually hit on the move.
I was thinking a few days ago, what about camoflage? Wouldn't be too hard. Have it programed that when sitting in trees or foliage hit a button or use dot command to camo your vehicle. Take about 10 mins or so in game time. Vehicle is hidden from view until it fires or moves. In WWII armored combat the Germans were very adept at this causing many American tanks to fall into kill zones without knowing that any enemy tanks were in the area until 2 or 3 Shermans went up in balls of flame. This brings up another sore point. What are the damage models of the tanks? I once hit a Tiger in the side 11 times with a T34, also hit a Sherman at less than 800 meters above the track with a T34(no Sherman on the planet would survive that shot). Does the damage get randomly generated or are the areas that get hit receive the damage?

The T-34 we have in the game has the relatively weak 76.2mm gun. It was next to useless against the Tiger at greater than point-blank range. It is likely you were just too far out to do significant damage.
Shermans were not as lightly armored as you seem to think. Again, it is just the weak gun showing . . . the Sherman would not have survived had you hit it with the Panzer. (BTW, the Sherman with the standard "snub 75" gun would have the same problem . . . it and the Russian 76 seem nearly identical in terms of armor penetration from what I have seen).
I have noticed that for some reason the standard AP round on the T-34 seems more powerful than the HVAP round. If you have a situation like you describe, try switching ammunition and see if that helps. It might just be my perception, but the HVAP rounds just don't seem to do much.

I have seen what 75 and 76 mm ap rounds do to Shermans not pretty. There was a reason the crews called them ronsons(a lighter during WWII era). Get hit by anything and they go up in fireballs.
There relly should be some type of anti tank option in the game. German Hetzer, M10, towed 7 pnd, the idea for the jeep with recoiless rifle would be good.

Early Shermans had a propensity to catch fire due to inadequate ammunition storage, a situation that was largely rectified by the time of the Normandy invasion. After that point they were no more likely to catch fire than any German tank.
The German 75mm guns were much more powerful than the US 75mms. I am not sure where you have "seen what 75 ap rounds do to Shermans," but if you are referring to pics of battlefield damage, you are comparing apples to oranges.
Look up the thickness of the armor of the T-34/76, earlier PzkwIVs and the Sherman. You will see that the Sherman is comparable. But be cautious with the listed armor of the PzkwIV(H) and later IVs. Usually the armor listed includes the "skirting", which was added to defeat shape-charged weapons and did little to stop AP rounds.

a pather should not be perked it is the german version of a t34, exept beter gun
the sherman 75 on the first models was a low vilocity gun but when the m4a2 sherman came it was very similar looking to the fire fly exept that it had a high vilocity 75 with a musel brake
-
I wouldnt mind having the M4 at a cost of 20 perks

That is an odd statement. The Tiger is the same as a PzkwIV except with more armor and a bigger gun, so maybe it shouldn't be perked either? :huh

Thanks for all the replies fellas. Good to hear what others are thinking. I got to thinking after reading one of the replies about the damage generator and I have to say sometimes this game will piss me off big time when I am in a GV. For example: In a panzer and I hit a sherman from the side at a range of 1000 yds or less and it bounces off. In reality that 75mm round would slice right through the shermans armor due to the muzzle velocity of the 75mm gun at that distance and the thin side armor of the sherman. Now I know this is a game but sometimes I wonder what is going on with hits. Does anybody out there other than the HTC crew know what all is taken into consideration for damage? Just wondering so that I may take it into consideration when I am GV'ing it in the future. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
