Looks like BMW's 3 series back and Camry's front.

Never gonna happen,we all now how it went with VW Phaeton.

Hyundai makes very good cars these days. I expect Genesis to be even better.
Have ya'll seen how well made Hyundai Veracruz is? I was very impressed with it, interior is top notch. Material and build quality is also excellent.
Hyundai for sure has pulled off an amazing Uturn since the early 1990s.

Only Hyundai I've been in had styrofoam in the doors. The squeaking sound it made over every bump in the road was terrible.

I have a Hyundai Tiburon, it is a good car.
That Genesis looks a little like a Lexus IS250

I thought the same Furball,
my old girlfriend had a Lexus 220d (the deisel version of the IS250) and it does look alot like that.

If it's going to be even near as good it will end up costing the same like Benz and the likes. And in this case, which are you going to purchase for $60k? A Mercedes Benz or a Hyundai?
-
Those who are able to afford a Lexus, Merc, or BMW partly buy it for the vanity of the name and wouldn't be caught dead in anything named a Hyundai... while I'm sure it will be a nice car the above 3 don't have much to worry about.

Reminds me of when Mercedes tried to attack the low end of the market with the 190 (W201-chassis). What a complete piece of crap that was and M-B is still feeling the affects of that effort.

Umm what about Vaneo and the A series?
Those 190's are popular tuning chassis here in Finland. They boost the OM603 turbodiesel to 450+ horsepowers (street legal btw) which really moves the relatively light 190.

Price does not equal quality.

From reading I see they make junk cars. So what exactly is the threat to the other manufacturers? Parts laying in the road... that could be dangerous.... ??
-
Hyundai isn't junk. It's not the end all-be all of cars, but it's not junk. Their business is growing well (and by extension, my business).

Funny thing is I remember when the same thing was said about Honda's.

I have a Santa fe and concur.
Hyundai makes very good vehicles
It had one sqeak when I first got it which was fixed by the dealer with a 1/4 turn of a wrench. That was several years ago and other then regular maint. Tires. brakes, wiper blades. etc.
Havent had a single problem with it.
course now that I said that it will fall apart tomorrow LMAO
Rides well, Handles surprisingly well.
And everything in it is rather intuitive.
In the same time period I know several other people who have had multiple problems with both Caddys and Mercedes.
Two of them gave up are now Hyundai owners and couldnt be happier.
The other two just bring their cars back to the dealer and complain. again and again and again.
Being a Caddy/Mercedes owner isnt about having the best.
Its about class distinction. Makes you feel like a big shot or a pimp.
Probably due to some inferiority complex
Much for the same reasons Caddys were so popular with the inner city JJ Walker types in the 70's
The rest of the world is unimpressed ;)

I would prob. lean towards a Hyun. over most American cars.
Granted, Honda, Toyota would be my pref. choices.
-
I would take a Hyundai over a toyota any day of the week.
I dont see how a low end maker is going to be hurt by making a hi end car. Anyone who wants a nice car but can't afford the Lex or Merc will buy this.
-
If Hyundai comes up with something technologically advanced like VTEC, I'd buy it:aok

Here's the interior.
This may make or break the car...

My wife is rolling over 100K on her 2004 Santa Fe and not a single major issue and few minor ones.
I got one of the V6 Sonatas with the new hi-tech engine and suspension and traction control and abs and full airbag setup for $17,400 out the door last year. Hit it at a time where they had a glut of the V-6s and a shortage of the V-4s due to gas prices, a good dealer incentive and the fact that they are buying market share right now. A perfect savings storm :) Averages about 23 mpg/mix city and highway, 28 pure highway, 0-60 in about 8 seconds with 235 HP and a lot of room. Interior is fine, not great but not crap and better than the US automakers typically provide. Nice MP3 stereo, cruise, volume on the wheel, etc. Some moron actually had a rental up to abut 150 last year.
Doesn't have the car noodle appeal of a luxury brand, but living in the metropolitan Chicago area driving for me is more of a chore than a life experience, so I can appreciate the quality and features for a rock bottom price. Quality rankings are very high, as with customer satisfaction and it cannot be compared to the early Hyundai imports of the early 1990s, which were crap. Then, I remember the Datsuns (Nissans) that were first imported around the early 1970s rusting out in about 3 years and so on. Couldn't be happier and think it was one hell of a deal. I kinda get a kick out of finding the perfect value/deal and this was a score.

I don't know about over there, but here some Hyundai dealers are offering a 10 year unlimited mileage warranty. Mine is halfway through a 5 year warranty and have never had any trouble. Any manufacturer who does not have complete confidence in their build quality would not do that. I don't even need to get my car serviced at a Hyundai dealer to keep it valid.
