It was my first computer and not long after messing with it found this WWll flight sim called AW. It costed big per hour to play at the time and did not realize the bill would be so large. I remember blaming the first on a non-existent 12 year old neighbor my non-existent wife babysat. The game quickly became an addiction for me and almost had to sell my body to old ladies to pay for it.... but then it became free as part of AOHELL ...WHEWW that was close!!!.
I played for quite awhile before I hooked up with my first squad The Rangers. They made me wait almost 3 months before I could join but was worth it. There was no vox at the time and think thought I was a squeaker or squad jumper or something, I was 30 then. They were base takers and taught me a lot about Teamwork, Honor and Respect. They disbanded due to to the leader realizing the game had interfered with all aspects of his life and left for therapy I believe. Many others basically did the same and that was the end of that.
I flew around squadless for a long time trying to find another of the same caliber without success. I was BZ at the time and that particular country lacked in those areas IMO. Many months later a group of guys on the CZ side kept busting my missions so I decided to go meet them. They were from some jet sim and wanted to try AW out for a month. They stuck together and were very persistent defenders. After meeting and flying with them for awhile I decided to stay and help them along their way by teaching them all the Rangers had taught me. There name would become well known and hated by many. Hail to the late but great Marine Air Wing (MAW) one of the largest and best base taking squads there was in AW.
AW ended on Dec.7th 2001 :cry
Some of us continued playing on AH and after rebuilding the squad made just as heavy an impact here. I left sometime in late 2002 for basically all the same reasons my old squad had split up. It was time for a break and some re-evaluating.
I came back in late MAY of 2007 to find MAW still on but rarely playing. They had very few numbers compared to the 77 or so they once had and 40 wasn't responding to my emails :(
I needed to find a team oriented squad to fly with if I was going to be happy here again.
Looking at the roster I found only a few squads using their squad names and cpid's together, which in my opinion shows them as having the strongest sense of teamwork and unity which the MAW definitely had.
The AA's, AK's A8's Ltar's 68's and SE's
The AK's were a squad with respect, Stability and a hell of a record. They are an old squad and were my first choice to contact but for some reason never did. I met and flew with the AA's first which was another great squad and got along with Apache right from the start talking about old times in AW and AH. I investigated and flew with some others not on the list but was not sure i would fit in or meet my requirements.
Then the A8's: Now here’s a squad that seems to have it all. Not to big, not to small. Kind of new but their scores say they might have some experience in base taking. Nice web site, I think I'll fill out an application:aok

Nazgul is the best group of guys you'll find anywhere.
-
I was just a dirty, poor noob on the streets when Kalisto invited me into the warm cozzy home of ~Gruppe Outlaws~. Every day is just so fun with them, and until the day (if there is) that ~Gruppe Outlaws~ disband I won't be leaving them any time soon.

Sorry mine is so long but it's how and why I found them

1st day I was on the game, I get a "Heya Mathis?..." "You related to Jonny?"
It was TwoDogs5. He happens to have the same last name, and introduced me to JG-3. They were all great, except for the 'hazing' FNG period I got for the first few weeks. :p They all helped me get acclimated to the game. Gave me training in acm, GVs, and everything else. I adjusted very quickly with their help, and began to land kils and build confidence... Couldn't have asked for a better group of guys. I've actually got to meet 7 of them already.
<> JG-3 UDET & all the other squads flying.

I started playing about 14 months ago. I'd been into flight sims for ever - my first being on the Commodore VIC 20, which kinda show's my age. I'd been through every version of MS Flight Sim and Combat Flight Sim but for some reason had never considered playing on line. When I saw the ad for AH2 on the military channel one night, however, I immediately knew I was going to be addicted.
When I started, I was auto allocated to Knights and never really considered changing (the mental image the term 'Knights' conjures up has always seemed much cooler than 'Bishops' or 'Rooks' to me...).
Anyway, after the harsh realization that my experience of shooting down AI drones in CFS meant jack against human opponents, I started paying attention to what other people were doing. One name kept popping up - 68KO. He seemed to be the one guy that could rally the Knights at will - when KO posted a mission, the turnout was usually spectacular. I started looking out for the 68th guys and just flew around the periphery of what they were doing, trying to pick up tips. It was an honor then, when KO contacted me on private VOX and asked me if I wanted to join. I didn't have to think twice.
Over the next couple of months, my education in all things AH2 was second to none. I learned there was so much more to AH2 than just upping and furballing. We'd do buff runs, jabbo raids, GV missions as well as just mixing it up in fighters. More than anything else, the 68th are all about having fun. We don't take things too seriously, we're not too hung up on score, we expect squad memebers to play the game with respect for those flying with us and against us, and as a team we never leave anyone behind. All of these things matched perfectly what I was looking for in the game.
As many of you know, 68KO passed away almost a year ago. Its my regret I didn't have more time to get to know him better, however its an honor to continue to fly in his squad. In 68Falcon, we have a leader who has done a magnificent job filling the gap left by 68KO's passing. In players like 68Boomer, 68Boxcar, 68LU, 68Hawk and 68Magnum we've been blessed with some great leaders. More than anything else though, we're just a bunch of guys who share the same goal - and that's to make sure this game remains fun.
68th and the rest of the AH2 community. I think the most telling thing I can say about you is my wife hates you all :D

Raw Prawns..... They're all Australian or English ex-pats and play the same time as I do.
I used to fly in a different squad on a different country so I kept getting shot down by them because they wing so well. Of course, I suspect they were gunning for me as I had flown with them a few times before, so we knew each other.
After a while I migrated over to the Rooks in the hopes of finding better fights and better general fighter team-work (I found the Bish seriously lacking in this regard). I had planned on just going lone wolf for a while but the JR insisted that I join the Prawns, so I did.
And that's that. Fellow Australians who don't give a watermelon about capturing bases and fly for the love of air combat.

Luck I guess.
I had left a very good squad and was looking for something a bit more to my way of flying.
I met Batfink and Buffer one day. We struck it off real well and talked about our love for Spits and a few other trinkets. After a bit we decided to form a squad of Spit V pilots. This was in AH1 when the Spit V was IMHO the best lil fighter in the game.
I really got elected CO by default. They just said Red would be good so they made me CO. Thus , 71 Sqd. RAF Eagles was born. We snagged SteffK , DeeBee , and a few others that were in the game at that time. Since then , it's been 4 years or so I believe ,we've been flying as a squad.
Our squad has grown. We've had guys come and go and made friends with many along the way. We all share basically the same look at AHII. Have fun , don't worry bout things and enjoy yourself when your here and flying with 71 sqd.
It's really been that philosophy that has kept this squadron relaxed and I'd say somewhat humble. We're not well known like alot of squads. Alot in the game kind of just over look us. And , that's ok with me. We have 2 wings now. Quiet guys as far as getting in 200 purse fights. (Although I have on occasion been in 1 or 2. BatfinkV as well. :lol)
We just cruise the skies , looking for a fight and have fun doing things our way.
It's been with out a doubt the best time I have ever had in a squad. I am not only lucky to be the CO of this squad , but blessed to have found such great guys AND a gal (Schatzi) to fly with. They are like my family. I think the world of them and can't imagine being anyplace else in AHII than with these guys. Then mean alot to me each and every one of them.

I been in mine so long I forgot what made me join
-
I was still in my 2 week trial (a few years ago) when I got a squad invite pop up message. I assumed it was one of those join requests & hit accept; I was surprised to see that it was actually a squad invite.
I spent a year in the squad without ever having talked to one single person in our squad. Not on vox, typing, nothing. I was content with that though.
After about a year, I joined the ~Air Raiders~
Best bunch of folks ever. :) If I had only known what I was missing when I was with that first phantom squad, I probably would have looked for the ~Air Raiders~ sooner. :)

I started off in FA 2.0 2000, ended up in a squad called TEA (The Empire Aces) They were the best GB squad in game and had some top pilots of that era. FA 3.5 2002 - 2004 I ended up joining the Damned who were the mysterious elite fighter pilots of that game.
Dominated the weekly KOTS squadron events for near on 2 years without losing out too anybody. To a point where people no longer challenged us kinda ruined the whole event :(. We were feared everywhere we went, if you saw that name tag you either ran or died. Never have I experienced such superb wingman skills and communication. To have 6, 8, 10 killer guys all on the same page was a blast.
I formed The Few in 2003 as a squad I could fly with in my time zones (without having to stay up til the early hours) and to fight the Japanese hordes when they opened up the other server. The Japanese players were easy targets at first and we slaughtered them wholesale. They got better quickly but also revised their tactics. I took it upon myself to command most of the guys on GB to fight these battles outnumbered. We held our own. Uniting British players into one force to be reckoned with was the goal and we did it.
I quit the Damned to fly and command The Few without interference. The player numbers started nosediving and I came here in May 2005.

I'm not in a squad now, but I was in LCA because of Ramapo running fun missions.

Joined the Few a week or so after joining AH. Bruv saw I came from the same town as him in the UK - and taught me a couple of things - my primary role within the squad is to bait people into a conga line, and lead them to getting shot down by everyone else lol.......or maybe thats just cos my flying sucks.....:D
I love flying with the guys in the Few - very good sticks, great people all round
to all in the game, nowhere else have I had as much fun with my clothes on :D

I left oREo squad mainly to persue a more aggressive fighter squadron, decided to leave bishop all together and go rook to check it out. Think what caught my eye was dextur and axer working together as a team flying around in p47's one day mowing down entire knit field, figured i'd ask shawk about an invite.
Gotta say its been a great experience altogether, and the rook side

Lets see.... I had one of the original MS flight simulators... the Huge Floopy one... and also Chuck Yeager's AFT... Did a search on AOLousy back in '97-'98 and found AW... "hmmm this seem's interesting"... been hooked since... I started my own squad with some guys at work I talked into it. We were ~69th BLACKCATS~, we flew RR.. europe? "'C's"
I then got my father hooked onto AW... He ended up meeting the CHawks started by Jhffo and Bison... the original Bison and Jhffo... since retired.
Well, everyone here knows of the demise of AW by EA sports... I took a haitus... shelved my MS JStick and did RL stuff... got bored and did a search on AOLousy once again and found a new game called AcesHighII.."hmmm this seems interesting"... wooh! Dejavu..Did the 8v8 for a while to get my feet wet again and then subscribed.
Joined the Knights right away.. saw some CHawks on.. did a shout-out to BelethCH..Quick history conversation ensued and was given an invite in 30 minutes. Been there ever since and I will be for life.
They are a very Complete squad IMHO, Bombers... Fighters... Attackers... Furballers.. GV'ers... whateva ya wanna do.

I started out flying thje old AW and when i lost my internet connection tehn got it backe 6 mos later i tried to fimd a game out there that was just as fun. I happened to stumble across the site for aces high .. not aces high 2. When i first can=me on i was allocated to bish... and i had fun as all heck flying and getting shot down...more of the second than the first.
I then decided to upgrade from flying with a mouse to using my first joystick...then i got my first kill...was addicted at that point. then i started to go to the different countries and fly a couple of weeks as a bish then rook then eventually i stayed a knight... that was in 1996..around that time i started freelancing with the 68th and became aquainted with a lancer at that time and he challenged me in a duel in the dueling arena.
Well I got shot down and then i asked him for advise on what i was doing wrong ..he spent 2 hours in the dueling arena with me and helped me out alot...that gentleman was 68KO. little did i know the next time i came on i was invited to join the 68th. Been with the 68th since then..minus aprox 4 years while i drove trucks long haul.. when i came back i was gracelly accepted back into the 68th and learned of the unfortunate death of a friend
the 68th are a group of guys that are the appitamy of brothers by different mothers. I would not feel right leaving the squad and if I do it will be hard to do because I have made alot of good friends here.

The AArch AAngelz:
Before I had joined the AAs, I was known simply as olds. I had GVed the daylights out of everything under the sun---with decent results. When I used to fly it was almost always a suicide mission. Then one day I was GVing some base and AApache happened to be there. He asked me to grab troops...I did. We repeated the process numerous time that day. Usually I ran the troops LOL! AApache talked, I typed, but we chatted anyways. He ended up asking me if I wanted to wing up with the squad and consider joining despite my lack of any flying ability and fierce reluctance to fly anyways, lack of vox or a joystick. I used a mouse when I first started and for about 6 months of my time with AAs.
I discovered after spending a bit a time with the AAs just as olds, that I was treated with respect, shown much tolerance for my basic newb questions and everything and I was accepted as a focused GVer who was fairly unwilling to fly....LOL! I was freely given knowledge. I was trained in anything I asked about and given aid in so many battles and other matters. These qualities are still hallmarks of the AAs. We are willing to give most people a chance, to teach what we know, to help a squad member when in trouble as best we can with game-reason (meaning we dont expect to people to bail with kills, at high alt, part of a posted mission, or if in a perk ride, but some members will and have done this).
The AArch AAngelz 187th in my opinions is a well rounded and versitile squad with members that cover the spectrum of game skills. We have some great pilots, tankers, bombers, and tacticians. We are very freely organized in that we dont require each other to fly together all the time. We are all free to do our own thing most of the time. When we do call for missions, we do our utmost to cater to each members desires in regards to their part of the mission so they can show off their skills and prowess. Many times I can remember AA missions that flatten an entire enemy base, while at the same time destroying the town and capturing it too. When a majority of the AA squad is online at the same time, trouble for the enemy is sure to come. We want to have fun, we like destroying stuff, and we are willing to wreck our ranks to do it and we love to talk while were doing it, were a noisy squad!
I am proud to be a member and the XOII of the AArch AAngelz 187th.

i came to AH when they switched from AHI to AHII. Right away i was and LTAR from day one LTARokit recruited me. at the time it was just me and LTARokit the rest of the squad was still on WWIIOL. LTARokit tried his best to teach me everything he knew.
I would say a few months later most of the LTARs switched back to AHII. and started recruiting. i have meet a ton of people along the way. made a ton of friends as well. LTARs taught me tactics on base taking and defending a base. taught me how to run a squad when i became an officer for the LTARs. not to many could help me with my flying. I use to hate to up a fighter. it was about this time i started to hate the fact that i could not fly. only gvin get old after a while. so i left the LTARs for a while.
flew Knights for a while where i meet up with Lambo BatFinkV and they started to teach me a few things.
Flew Rooks for a while, where for the first time i got to know SHawk for the person he really is. i owe dam near all me E fighting to him. Its where i also meet Storch, where he taught me how to keep the advantage in a dog fight as well as turning my 109s and 190s alot better. this is also the point i joined the HA's for a short time. I owe these gents a big SALUTE for helping me with the rest of my fighter skills. HA's are a great group of guys.
I finaly went back to LTAR being a more rounded player in this game. where they welcomed me back with open arms. i flew with them for about 1 to 1 1/2 more years.
I got to a point that where i knew i was destin to do something more. and i found out what that was. i knew it was not going to be an easy task by far. i left the LTARs for the final time. I started my own squad 173rd Guardian Angels. I was not sure what country to base this squad out of so we did some time with the Bishops then some time with the Rooks and then the Knights. we walked in the first day with the Knights and the amount of people that supported us and welcomed us with open arms was moving. So this is where i thought it would be best to start the squad. It has been an up hill battle since then to build and train new members. we now have 24 Members a couple that are still new but for the vast of them they are well on their way to being our next Vets.
I could not ask for a better squad. we have became a family. I am looking foward to many more years with this new squad.
And yes I still consider the LTARs as my family even tho we kill each other now. i had the honor of meeting LTARhntr and LTARstud not to long ago.
I also want to thank all the other players and squads that i have ran into in my past time with AH its been a blast and i cant wait till xmas to chase down Hitech in his santa sled :) :aok

I flew with precision for a month before they took me in, Their Mistake. Anyway, Floatsup has been a great leader and has taught me more about bombing than anyone. Everytime I think I know all there is to know he says "Hey Gra did you know this?'. Dam no and he gives me a lesson. He makes it fun and the squad is as looney as I am. I even got my son Nasty47 in the squad. He is learning everyday and sometimes learns more than he needs to know (ahhhemmm). Well anyways PRECISION is the squad of the Knights. Salute the 68's our brother squad. Thanks Magnum for upping JUG missions. 50 Jugs slaming the door shut on an airbase. I wonder what the Bish say when 50 Jugs come in at 400 knots and level their home. OHHHHH Chit!!!!

This has been about my eighth month playing this game and I have been bouncing a lot of squads.
I started with my first squad, the 79th Fighter Group and I will always had fun in that squad. After having dificulties, I move on to one of VansCrews sqauds. It too was fun, but no one ever showed up on anyday so I left that squad and found WWhiskeys squad. It had the same problem as VansCrews squad and so I left that squad. I went back to bish and saw a good friend of mine, allied, so I PMed him and asked him if I could get into his squad.
I have been part of the 490th battlin Bulldogs for about three months now and I belive that this is the best squad around.
-
i chose the Hired Guns, because i was RTB and smoking,,,,almost to base, when one of their members asked me to cover him on a bombing run.....which i did as soon as i replaned. at this point, i still knew a LOT les than what i know now.......3lips, hgdan, and lazydog2, all took me under their wing, and taught me a lot about bombing, and gv'ing....and dan helped me a lot with the fighters.......on top of that, we tend to work very well, and closley together.....not as much as a year ago, but we still try. i mainly stay in the air as i scuk in gv's...but i give them cover when they need it.
or, i might've had a few drinks that night.....not sure which:D

Birds Of Prey. Because you will never fly with a greater bunch of guys, ever.

Trying to resist...trying....trying.... must not.....
whew. (Great straight line, BTW)
I went a long time as a lone wolf, and learned a lot about fighting doing it. After months of that, I realized I wanted a chance to develop more friendships than you can outside a squad. I wandered around flying with this group and that, and finally decided that for me the best match was Daddog's group, the 332nd Flying Mongrels. (OK, they were the best matched squad that would TAKE me...but I digress...)
Just a great group of guys, people that are great to hang around with; and people who are flat out there for each other when RL acts ugly.

Rolling thunder is first squad i've joined,I didn't feel the need to embarass myself by jumping into a squad as a complete dweeb.Yeah ive not been playing for 2 years yet,but I wanted a few skills under my belt before I became part of a group.
I'd had a surprising number of offers to join squads, but Falcon23's manner and attitude convinced me to join up.I'm glad to say I haven't regretted it.

I must say that flying with groups such as Ace's and 8's is what makes the game fun!We have a substantial number of pilots but winging up with squads like the Ace's and 8's , The L.C.A also an outstanding bunch, The Death Rattler's , The Tomcatter's, The Gruppe Outlaws', The Blackout Boys, Raw Prawns, The C Hawks when we were there for a few tours, The 68 Lightning Lancer's ,and The Freebirds just to name a few opens up an entirely new game dynamic.
Your completing your missions and meeting great people in the process.Alle the squads have such talented members that when we all work together a positive outcome is much more likely. AAolds ,AATalon ,myslef, AApumbaa, AALoki, AADiesel ,AAkupton ,AABeta12 and AAPhase are a few of our tacticians but having other tactically based squads to join and the complete the tasks makes the game a pleasure.
We are all ways trying to learn more and perfect our craft but having guys like A8Tool and The Ace's and 8's , Rondar, HEELER and his crew, A8wolf,A8Cole, A8HaTrik GEEONE, A8hunter, A8balls, A8viper, A81HAND ,DEEMNN, TTIGER, Zulu, DR7, BiPoLaR ,SEBongo ,Gianlupo, OBX and his comical comments to all ways make you laugh,Betty,SheGoTya, Wonder, jdjnr, kilz and The Guardian Angels ,Tristate, CofnCrnr and LovlyDth, LYNX , ColKlink, ANNAKIN ,Latrobe, Louman, Pop04, Mus51, Chaingun, the LTAR's to all ways give us a great fun filled battle to keep AAPhase ,AADiesel and AAolds busy in those GV's,or DirtDevl his crew soaring through the blue yonder or stodd and MrMeaty to shoot at. The game just wouldn't be the same!
= Salute = and thank you all for adding your different and unique personalites to the game. It makes my monthly investment woth it.
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all you pilots ,Gver's and sailor's.May gurdian Angels and Link Angels protect my cousin who is currently on a destroyer of the coast of Afghanistan ,may they also watch over AAHpint who is touring in Afghanistan also right now promoted from Warrent Officer to Interogator. I'm sure these men would love to be home with there families but they are doing what we pretend to do in the game for real life. So I all soldiers, son's and daughters.May they all return home safe...Amen

2 days later I was in.

Well, heres mine:
My first name was "9598"
When I started out about (Give or take a month) 2 years ago, I went solo for about a tour. Then I met up with a great guy named GIGANTO. He was in his early-mid 20's at the time, and he had a squad named "The Artful Dodgers". It had a good 10 other kids in the squad, so I learned to fit in and starting actualy learning the game.
2 names that pop up ALOT when I think of my old squad is: Everett1 and Jp22. Everett was the X.O. and JP was a good guy. Spent a lot of time with both of them. We changed names constantly and we stuck with the "Wings of Death", which later was changed to "13th Wings of Death". I spent about 7 months altogether with this squad. Then I took a break for about a month in July. I came back early August and many things had changed.
GIGANTO had been called to duty for the Navy (I think, Army or Navy) and I have not heard from him since.
A fellow squaddie and very close friend (in-game) had commited suicide.
The squad had since split and it turned into the 303rd bomber group. Serenity was the C.O. I spent about a week with them and I decided it was time to try something different.
I left them and went solo for 3-4 days and I advertised on country "Lookin' for a squad, any openings anywhere?". I got numerous replies from about 4-5 squads. Then I got the PM that changed my AH career.
BelethCH PM'd me asking me to tune channel 164, so I did, and there were almost 10 people on the first time I tuned. BelethCH asked me my age and I replied "11". The C-Hawks don't usually accept people under the age of 18, so odds looked slim. Then out of the blue, F4jCH came out on vox and said "I say we let him stay for a while and let SpiveyCH (C.O. of the whole group) decide. I owe my C-Hawks career to F4, because Bel was about to say I wouldn't be accepted.
So I flew with them for about a week before I got a invite from MotleyCH. He was C.O. of the 383rd at that time. I still think the only reason I got into that squad is because of what F4 said. I started learning all over again and I kept improving on my skill. In January, I decided to change my name to "SubwayCH", and I still use it.
About 4-5 months later, one of the highest moments in my game history happened.
I was strolling through the roster, and I spotted a name that looked very familiar: "Jp23". I recognized it as soon as i went back. I quickly PM'd him telling him who I was, and he was just as happy. I asked him if he had a squad, and he answered "no".
I quickly told him to tune channel 164, and I was lucky Beleth was on at the time. I told him who he was and Bel asked him "you'll surely be getting an invite". This really cheered me up to see someone from my early AH career.
This squad is just a great, well structured squad that is tons of fun. I hope I never leave. Everyman in the 364th is a brother to me.
Now, i'm a great mission maker and good at getting people to work together. I sometimes tune to fly with the 71st, JG11, (+), and 68th. I've volunteered for the next scenario, and I hope I do a good job.
I'm addicted, and I hope to never leave.
Regards,
Subway

I had been asked 2 previous times to join "The Damned" once in 96 and again in 98 or so ( maybe 97 when AW2 came along ) EDIT: Lugs had asked me 1st back in AW4W then Egger & Bama asked me 2 different other times.......then after joining Snowman's Eagles Squadron, our whole squad merged with the Damned in AW in 99, since Snowman was a former Damned....... been here ever since....and seriously regret not joining the 1st time I was asked.......
They have become my 2nd Family.......we treat each other like family, help each other....even have family like squabbles from time to time, which always smooth over....take visits just to see each other , and support each other in times of need....3/4's of the Damned do not fly regularly anymore, but the non regulars do pop in from time to time
we still have rather large followings in different games
Aces High II, Target Ware's Target Korea/Rabual/Midway etc...., wwiionline, Everquest/EverquestII, Ashrons Call, Ultima ( or did ), America's Army, and numerous other online MPG's....I can't remember them all...some games we no longer participate in: Fighter Ace, WarBirds, Combat Fighter, Jane's different games in the head to head room thingymajigs.....

Flew with BatfinkV by chance low on the deck against multiple cons. I had been declining requests as I was getting back in to the flight sim world (used to play WBs) but I was so impressed by his skill, teamwork, and attitude that I accepted on the spot. Turns out the whole 71st is that way. Been with them for over a year now. Great group of people from multiple countries. Laid back and fun group.

Well I flew with Precision for a while then was invited in and never looked back , it is the friendship and closeness that keeps it going . Working with the 68s and Freebirds and CH's is really fun . Big missions and playing with all of you fine folks is the reward , this goes to all members of all countrys .

I just skimmed through this thread, but just by the title alone there has got to be a Vanscrew joke in here somewhere.

I did not choose my squad. The BKs begged me join and at the end they had to pay me good money to join them. They said they wanted someone that did not suck as bad as them. They were tired of being an ACM embarrassment every time they got in their LA7s, so being the nice guy that I am, I accepted. They have come a long way since then. (I heard Hub and Jaxxo got a kill the other day)

No. Personally I can't stand any of the guys in mine. We've got rednecks, loudmouths, blowhards, pick-tards, gun nuts, World of Warcraft sissies, Steelers fans and Connecticut snobs. Hate them. Dedalos I'm calling the INS on you.

Vizwhiz: this is what you'll post, right?
Well, I met this dorky gal txmom who asked me like 5 or 6 times over the course of a years time if I would like to come visit w/the ~Air Raiders~ on their squad night. I got tired of her asking and finally went to visit with them. They were great and I joined. Been happy ever since!

Thats pretty much how mine got formed too. Seems to have worked out pretty well. We don't have too much weird squad politics etc, keeps it simple and keeps everyone getting a long with each other.

I was tired of getting shot down by SHawk.:rofl

Was newb with no idea what I was doing..

Got invited by the "Nasty Dead Men" right after my free 2 weeks were up. All I could do right was resupply bases with a goon. I guess they needed someone to keep their squad's score down. Squad has had its ups and downs but I got to stick with them. Great bunch of guys, and its pretty much come full circle. Good to see our Nasty little family back together again.:t

Well my story is gonna be a long one!! lol
When i first started playing AH back in 2002, it was right after AH started up. I had my 2 week spell loved it but knew i couldn't afford to play in the MA. Being only a freshman in highschool. So i spent the next 2 years in the H2H arena. Learned a lot when guys from MA would come in and fly and fight me and my lil "click" of friends. Frank tought me a lot about mission planning and such.
Then i finally had the money to come into the big peoples world. Logged into the MA for the first time since my 2 week trial. I upped a P-51 and flew around, at some point a guy named NOXious and Fish31st was in a furball with 7 other aircraft. I swooped in and took out 5 of them, turned around and landed them. Next thing i knew, i was a member of the famed 31st Bomber Barons, Fish31st being CO and Smky31st being XO. Spent almost a year with the guys, a great group of pilots and friends. I occasionally keep in touch with them, and every once in awhile i ask Adog31st now CO and GMC31st now XO for advice in leading a squad. After i left the 31st, i was recruited by Redtop and Batfink to the 71 squad RAF. They tought me A LOT more about the pony and the spitfire. Was with these guys for about 5 months or so. At the time i was a knight, and felt weird because i had been a bish for almost a year prior to joining 71 squad. I then left he squad and returned to bishop and Joined Mikeb31st squad 66th Hellcats. Flew with these guys for only a short time because Mikeb and some other members of the squad began having computer and personal problems. So they squad was disbanded pretty much over night.
I had been planning on starting either a Carrier wing or a Carrier squad for awhile, since i was back with the 31st. But nothing ever developed so i put the idea on the back burner. I couldnt have thought of a better time to start a carrier squad then after the 66th disbanded. Our main ride was the F6F Hellcat, i had done a lot of missions in bishland and was well known. So i decided to give it a go. First my squad was called the VF-66 Hellcats, then wen to VF-84 Eagles, then Cooley, my good friend, suggested VF-31 Tomcatters. And from that day the squad has never looked back. We have been active for a year and a half come Jan 22nd. It has been an amazing time. We have had a lot of guys come and go, but the good ones have stayed. And they are the ones that have made this squad really grow!! I couldnt have done it without Rattfink, Sgt203, Helrazr, Captfish, OOZ662, and some of the other great Tomcatters we have in our squad!!!
<> To all squads in AH. You guys are what makes this game so much fun!!

I joined The Few in 2005 cause they're brits, and I hate brits. It's a keep your enemies closer kind of thing. I am studying their behaviour, finding their weaknesses for an eventual all out attack. First, I will set bruv's car on fire and then I will celebrate the completion of my grand crazy scheme.

simular reson to rumble excpt i am a brit and i like to fly with brits

JG54 is more like a family than a squad.

zachary was an old squad mate that desided to leave and join zoozoo 101st airbore squekers and then he asked if he could get back in and so on i wish i had recorded the conversation it was intresting so as you can read that is how it ended and then my computer glitched and exited so i didnt get to hear the rest

This is another reason, apart from the obvious time-zone convienience and friendly attitude of the mighty Raw Prawns.

As far as I can remember, Manx was smacking me around in the P-38, then he taught me the P-38 - which led to me riding along with him - then Manx bailed over to WW2 online which left SHawk in charge, numbers grew so we expanded into another sister squad to fit more guys which I ran - been there ever since.
Met SHawk a bunch, flew with Hondo and a few others. Its just the way its always been I guess.
-
Holy crap. I forget even why. Its been since..."96"? Hehe.
It all started way back in WB's (2.5 maybe? ) in the 450th BGH. Started flying Squad Select Series (S3's) missions , and was hooked. Just a bunch of friends that get together and blow stuff up and have fun I guess.
-
...If I didn't, who would have?
Salute all the Squadrons of AH! :aok

this guy was like "you in a squad"
I was like "no"
he was like "you wanna be in one"
I was like "yea"
and he was like "cool".
