I'd just settle for bailing out conditions according to plane position, momentum and G-forces.

that would be cool, I think there are other things that need improvement first, but that would definetly be neat to watch :P

if they did it that way then someone may accidentatly press enter and then fly around unbuckled. if the go inverted then they may have a problem.

There were a lot of factors to bailing out including height,speed,g-forces and of course whether the pilot had his brains inside his head or splattered all over the cockpit :)

I do like this idea; Too many times I've accidently bailed out in middle of fight or furball :cry

Change your bail-out key to the '+' key on the number pad.

Re-map the '-' and '=' key to control your RPM and then you have no problems.

As far as I've noticed this has no negative effect as far as unmapped keys goes.

I would like to see it made harder to bail out.

You shouldn't be able to bail out of an aircraft that is locked-up and diving at over 400 MPH.

It should also take a lot longer to get out if you're in a vicious spin or perhaps even impossible depending on the g-forces invovled.

Yep, defiantly need to remap the Bail key after numerous flights of just getting to the target and checking map/text buffer I saw my plane fly off with out me.... :furious

Remapped mine to ALT + ENTER

I have the bailout command mapped to a big blue button on my Joystick with "E" written on it. Darned as it may be the local kids in the house and my sister walk up and say, "What's that?"

Next thing I know I feel what's it's like to go sky-diving after jumping out of a plane at 400 MPH.

what we need is guys occasionally bouncing off the vertical slab etc...getting out of a WW2 fighter wasnt a sure thing by any means. Then the occasional streamer would be nice as well...more then one poor SOB found out the hardway that while he may not have been hit his silk was.

I have mapped my bail out to "Enter-Shift-Enter".

Works good.
