This is the view before my first try:

Bear in mind the two black wires outside my bundle are the wires for my rear speakers and therefore they will be tacked to the wall and run inside a white strip I have that will run down the far wall. Also, the telephone box will be mounted and all that excess wire removed.
I still have some things to hook up to my computer, like my joystick and a new USB hub on a monitor I just bought, so this is my first try.
It's going to be nice to be able to not see spagetti behind my desk and allow it to be cleaned instead of collecting dust.

Keep us posted on that! btw, you should see that nightmare I have behind my desk. Have two comps hooked to a kvm switch, 5.1 speaker system, a 2.1 speaker system, usb powered hub, ff stick, and a printer and a scanner. It's terrifying! The mess behind my tv is no better. It has two dvd players, a tuner, satelite box, and 5.1 speakers. And dust is everywhere cause it scares me and I created it.

Oh, I like that flooring. What is that!

This does not include also in my room, a laser printer (ethernet connected). A separate micro atx tower running a linux firewall (has mouse and keyboard, modem, no monitor). A mid atx computer (mouse, keyboard, no monitor) acting as a file server) and a router acting as a wireless access point.
I need to move to a bigger apartment :cry

Well, the cool thing about these wire holding bundles is that once you have a good plan of how the wires need to be directed you can have some running inside one bundle and then pull them out where needed and add them to another bundle while still maintaining the integrity of both bundles.
It is really easy. If I can do it anyone can...trust me.
As to the flooring...it is tile. I originally wanted hardwood but two things made me change my mind:
1. When it rains here...it pours generally. We don't use alot of airconditioning, despite the fact that we have one in almost every room, and instead prefer to keep windows open. If the window is open and we get a heavy downpour, even if I remember immediately there is always a wet floor that greets me when I go to close the window. After a while hardwood simply gets ruined.
2. Ours is a very old house which has been under multiple termite attacks. The house was last "tented" and fumigated about 8 years ago. The worst hit areas in the house have always been the window frames (and those have all now been replaced) and wooden floors. Rather than given the little bastages some more food in the future I decided the tile would be a better idea.

You keep your desk entirely too neat.
The mess behind my desk is only surpassed by the outright disaster area on top of it. LOL
