This thread is all about tooting it. Some of his pictures have been posted here like the railroas crossing one, but for the first time in a long while I’ve been looked through his
flicker (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dotdoubledot/) photostream and have seen some pretty cool and amazing pictures. Here are the ones I like the most:

Desert Castle Magic II has never saved properly on my computers for some reason. I'll have to printscreen and jpeg it.
It's reassuring to see that even great pics like Sandman's suffer from value bleeding around contrasting edges when seen at full resolution. I thought that on my pictures was just my poor craft.

Once I made my peace with Sandy via PM, he had no fight in him...lost his testosterone level, and now makes quilts and neat pictures. :D:D:D

yep... i hear you... something you might want to try since you have the perfect terrain and environment for is star trails.
camera on a tripod... remote release and 30 sec exposures for about 1-3 hours... iso 400 and lens wide open.
just write an action in ps to stack all the raw files with the layering mode set to 'lighten'

Strange purple color on some of those stars... Or is that the yellow/orange stars layered over the blue ones?

I think my D50 has a 30 second limit. After that, the only option is "bulb." I hadn't considered stacking the images. Thanks for the idea.
I may have to wait a few months though... Nights are too freaking cold right now.
