Title: Rush
Post by: texasmom on December 12, 2007, 09:58:29 PM
As many times as we post about music in here ~ I've never seen anything on Rush. I love Rush  :) and I don't mean Limbaugh. I mean the first Rush :)

Red Barchetta was one of my faves.

Oh man, thinking about all the good times I had back in the mid-80's listening to Moving Pictures...and 2112...and Permanent Waves...Exit Stage Left...

YYZ in particular was responsible for me getting a few speeding tickets in the ole Trans Am.  Great tune that one.

They're awesome. You know what? I don't have one single Rush song on any of my playlists... and don't have one single CD of theirs (I never upgraded once CDs came out...still have some old cassettes though). Maybe I'll add them to my christmas wishlist =)

Damn Mom!  Thanks...I love Rush, but just never thought about picking them up on YouTube.  Tom Sawyer is my all time favorite, followed by Red Barchetta.:aok

C Bust- could ya paint a worse canvas of a great band? Answer- No. Pantera's a good band, but not painted in that light.  This has nothing to do with the original band we were talking about.  Stay on topic-Rush.  Heavy? Check out Kiss It Goodbye, then talk to me about heavy.  'Till then- we're talkin' Rush, chief.

They took a top 40ish turn after "Farewell To Kings"....saw em live once or twice in 70's, awesome. Love the way that guy plays bass like a lead guitar

Huge fan from the old days (last record I bought was Permanent Waves), but for the life of me I can't recall them in concert with another band. I just had this conversation with a client about the odd pairings we had seen over the years and when Rush came up neither of us could remember them playing with an opening act. They were and probably are something to see live (last show for me was Tarrant Co. Conv. center in '81). I wonder if they just overshadowed the openers so much that they never registered or if they were playing solo shows.

FWIW here's one that could have shared the stage but I doubt they ever did.

BJ probly knows these guys.
