Atlantic Salmon steaks about 1/2lb each topped with grated ginger, garlic and pepper with olive oil, honey and lime juice baked for about 10min at 180°C (350°F)
Served with mashed sweet potato with garlic, ginger, coriander, a touch of curry powder and lime juice and steamed broccoli and carrot on the side with butter, lemon, garlic and mustard sauce.:aok
Presentation could be better, but all up I think it took 25 minutes to make

I'll have 5 please.:D
-
MMMmm sounds great! The last fish I cooked was catfish dipped in buttermilk then rolled in Zataran's and deep fried. Good eatin'.:aok

The last big meal I cooked was at Thanksgiving. I baked a 12lb chicken with cornbread stuffing, collard greens, yams and string beans.
-
i make a mean chille concarne..or anything fried im your man.
just dont ask me to cook anything that takes skill :)
-
Many years in culinary here. Out now but it's my (expensive) hobby. Always ready for new recipes or just PM me with ideas!
-D
-
I could murder anything that began as edible. Be that as it may Im not bad at wild game dinners. Now my brother? He's a heckuva cook.
-
Expensive is right.
I so badly need a new set of knives, but I think I need a new computer more, I'm having AHII withdrawals:lol
Come to think of it, I can probably get one mean gaming machine put together for way less than the cost of a decent set.:huh
-
I grill therefore I am.
-
I think someone sneezed on yer plate there. What is that?
-
Nice looking Salmon there. Sweet potatoes make me gag though(Literally).
Frankly, I love to cook. Not a culinary expert though. I'm most famous for my Chuck Wagon beans. We eat them with tortillas. Not a pretty meal but hey my kids still talk about how good that stuff is. I'm always looking for new recipes when I have time. My last venture was Hudson Bay Bread. It's good for hikers. Has high energy. Once made pumpkin pie from scratch. I mean I processed the pumpkin and everything. Don't know how in the world those pioneers ever figured that recipe out. Lordy, I ended up with gallons of pumpkin pie mix.
Does making beer count. That's my next experiment.
Oh, make some mighty fine fried chicken too. Secret ingredient is electric skillet and just some chicken seasoning along with some other kitchen spices. My kids love that too.

My wife and I share the duty since we both work full time.
-
Looks great =0)
*edit*
TxDad won't post on here, but I will add that he does so much of the cooking in our home. Mostly because he's better at it than I am, and the family enjoys good food (which they have to wait for HIS meals to get).
-
I cook.
We mostly eat fish, but when meat is on the table and on weekends i leave the cooking to the missus.
-
SD67 - beautiful dish... only thing I'd change is to BBQ salmon outdoors on high heat drizzled with olive oil for a bit 'o' the old char - and that is an individual taste. Your seasoning is very very nice.
-
darker plate would pop those colors out. the presentation is great, but it doesnt have any contrast...so the food gets lost in the presentation.
i know, i know...sorry.
-
I make a mean spinach omelet but that's about it.
Did someone mention tacos? I love tacos. Especially with my favorite hot sauce that I got in the Mexican Riviera, "Secretos Mayas". Mmmmmm good!

I'm still practicing my grill abilities.
My pork chops are actually quite decent now.
-
I cook at least once a day, 5 days a week. I've completely done away with charcoal & grills. All my meat is done sous-vide, and comes out perfect every time. Steak, chicken, fish, pork, good stuff. That salmon steak looks damn good, but imho the portions are too big. Small portions, multiple courses is where it's at :)

filth and jb88 :lol
"looks like someone sneezed on your plate"
"a darker plate would make those colors pop"
toooo funny!

There's a really good austrian restaurant up here at Penn State called Herwigs. If you're ever swinging through the center of the state you should stop by. They only take cash though.

Nah...if he's in Philly he's gotta try the Austrian Village on Huntingdon Pike (Oxford Av) in Rockledge just outside of the city.

Ah yes, guys grilling. Hmmm. In our townhouse neighborhood years ago, on Sunday afternoon there would be a line of 10 of so people outside grilling away -- 9 guys and my wife.
I don't cook much. Never have. Lazy. But I can survive nicely heating up various packaged stuff. And fortunately my wife loves to cook and is a good cook.

I wasn't saying it was the best. I was only suggesting it if he's in this area.

Get yourself a Reynolds Handi-Vac. We have then here for $10 in grocery stores, same isle with the zip-lock bags. I've been using one for a few months now, and done a lot of water bath cooking. Works fantastic.

I have been an Executive Chef for the last twenty yrs. Do it for a living.
Maybe do it once a week at home on day off. Wife does the Mexican cooking I do the rest. Their is a lot to be said about coming home from a long day in the kitchen and sit down and have a bowl of cereal at about 9:30 pm LOL! I like comfort foods. They pay me to make flash foo foo crap. Doesn't necessarily mean I want to eat it at home.:D
