Title: Question about blue shade for US insignia

What color was it exactly?   Or did it vary?   I have seen everything from bright blue to nearly black.

I have always used an insignia I got from a markings kit available at Simmer's Paintshop, but I wonder if the blue is not dark enough.

I would think insignia blue, but how it weathered after that? Depends on the plane and conditions.

I have RGB values for Insignia Blue at home. Can't get to them right now but I'll repost when I get access.
