From my other obsession, little British cars.
I think it's a P-38 tank.
Any of you eggheads care to help figure this out?

Looks like a Karmann Ghia steering wheel.

test

It looks like a standard MK-14 external tank. 165 gallons.
-
Thanks Bodhi. Was that used on P-51s usually?
-
I'll check to be sure when I get back to work, but I do not believe so.
It was used more by the Navy.

'57 Thunderbird/Ranchero/Courier.

Not a 38 tank. Looks like a Corsair DT to me
-
It is a MK 14 - 300 gallon tank, I mixed up the quantities. The MK 12 is 165 gallons.
Lists of aircraft that can carry it are as follows:
A-26
B-26
F4u-4 and -5 (can not fully extend flaps)
F7F
P-38 (using modified pylons)
P-61

Fun with DTs P38 style in the MTO. 1st FG. This is a 165 gallon 38 DT
