Title: X-52 Not working in game
Post by: Bukrub on December 18, 2007, 11:49:32 AM
Trying to get my friend set up in AH. He called last night and is having trouble getting the X52 with a profile to work. If he has no profile it seems to work fine, but as soon as he engages a profile, none of the buttons will work in game. I know he can program the stick in the game, but he wants the profiler to work. Any ideas? He is getting frustrated, and Im afraid he wont sign up, if I cant help him line this out. I sent him my .dat file, but still nothing.

Stupid question....

But did he MAP anything to the profile he selected? Or is it a blank?

I don't know the software, I've never had that stick.

If you can't figure it out with a bit of looking, just turn off the profile and map everything in aces high itself.

Yes he did have a filled out profile. I emailed him mine which has everything already programed. I thought about sending him my AH settings file, but then remembered he doesn't have a dual core or a wide screen monitor. I know it can be programed in game, but then things such as push to talk for teamspeak ect cant be program in game.

Duo core, etc has nothing to do with the stick.

Look in HTC/Aces High II/settings for your saitekx52flightcontroller.jsm file and send him that.

Do you both have the same x52 or does one have a x52 and the other a x52 pro. The data file are not compatible.

I had and x52 and an x52 pro. When installing the new drivers I noticed I had 2 driver installations.  Maybe you have 2 installations on your pc.

Another problem I had was that I couldn't get it to calibrate. Saitek sent me a link to a small program I needed to download. It was intended for, what else, Vista. I have xp but downloaded it anyway. Also, those x and y adjustments, not necessarily axis, need to be given some deadzone. I think at desk top they act as trim adjustments. Give each axis some deadzone too. I was so frustrated at one point I flew with my old MS FF stick.  Now I am as pleased as punch. It is working so very smoothly.

Good luck!
