Title: PoW Camps
Post by: RoGenT on December 18, 2007, 01:08:54 PM
I don't know if this has been brought up or not so hopefully my idea is original.

I would like to see a Pow camp as part of the objects in the terrain (complete with POW on the roofs). It doesn't have to be one particular county that has ''prisoners'' there or not. And can't be captured unless a base closest to it is captured just like it is with  factories and such.

I like this idea.  Add trains with POW on the roofs.

Add Ferris Wheels with POWs on top too...maybe the guards were
taking them on a field trip :D

Would we be able to bomb the POW camps?  If we can't then I'm not for it.

This would add an interesting dimension to the gameplay.  Would you have any other things like varying numbers of Pows there etc?

What point would it have to the game?

I'd be for it if when you got "captured" by bailing or ditching over enemy territory you ended up in the POW camp for a few minutes as a penalty before you "escape" back to the tower.  Folks that landed their kills, or made it back to friendly territory would be able to up again immediately.

Lets add concentration camps also so we can free the prisoners from there.

No thanks. I have no desire to spend time I use for recreation sitting in any POW camp waiting to re-up.

I would never be in the air I get shot down so much:D

The point is just extra layout in the terrain, more or less. Kind of like there is troop training camps; really no point (to me anyway) but its there, so why not add little bit more? :)

limited troops  maybe you have to kill certain buildings to set the pows free and get  extra troops?:huh

The troop training camps are part of the strat system. They do actually serve some purpose. Random structures on the ground don't. Just pretend the farms you see are actually well disguised forced labor camps and voila! Same effect.

I think this is an AWESOME idea!  We could start an AH underground and have more things to spend perks on such as shovels, coffee pots with speakers and a microphone in the Kommandant's office disguised as a picture of Hitler!  Perhaps even strudel made by the French POW to bribe the lovable Captain of the guard!  The POW's could sneak out through a tree stump (would have to be a new terrain object) and bomb STRAT targets.

I give this the clerick stamp of approval!   :aok

I didn't like this idea until I saw this post.  Maybe we could get extra perks for witty one-liners too.
