Hey UB,
I don't know how you feel about building one yourself, but you could build a bigger monster for about the same money you would spend on that one.
I'm sure Fulmar and Krusty will be by soon and will help. They helped me put a system together that I'm very proud of.

UB,
I'm not the whiz that some are. But that comp looks pretty good to me. Can you grab Windows xp instead?
I built my own comp which is somewhat comparable for around 700 bucks. I already had an excellent case, soundcard, cd & dvd drives. I have soundblaster audigy, not the newer fx and 2 gigs of ram. 600 watt power supply and amd 3 ghz instead of intel. Also have a 250 gig drive and a 512 gt8600. But it runs sooooooo sweet.
When you put in all the higher end items you have, I doubt you can build it much cheaper. Some one will probably prove me wrong. Plus, you have someone to call and complain to. hehe

i know theres only a few things that can take advantage of the Q6600 quad core but as things change i want tokeep up and be a little ahead of the game i think this system will do it for me andtheres upgrades I should be able to do to it.
As for the price i went to Tiger Direct and it was close to this amount but I would have to put it together and theres a 3 year warranty here

not many comments on this subjest i see. Mostly wanted to know if it would run AH at a respectaqble level of play with no worrys of low frames are anything of that nature . I know squat about about computers as you have probably guessed .

You'll be able to run Aces High with Max resolution of your monitor. At LEAST 4x AA and use the 1024 texture pack. All with constant 60 or 75 FPS depending on your monitor's refresh rate.
I run a E6400, 4gb ram, 8800 GTS 640mb, Asus P5N-E SLI and I run 1600x1050, 4x AA, 1024 texture pack and its a constant 60 FPS no matter what*. If I turn V-sync off, FPS is around 130-180.
*Unless I'm on the runway in a mission and there's 100 people spawned on top of me.

My comp runs at 60 fps, that's what i have setup to do and texture at 1024. My goodness I can see the bullets hit a plane passing nearly head on. 6ftunder should be able to do the same. I think that will be a great system 6ft.

If I can run the same settings as you guys with the same results with a Northwood core Pentium 4 at 3.06GHz, a 6800 with the pipelines unlocked, and 4x512 matching sticks of PC3200 DDR RAM, he ought to be able to.
The question is price. Also note that Aces High's performance depends on the CPU much much more than any other component.
By the way, ditch the second DVD drive if you can. No point in it. You do NOT want Vista on a gaming machine. There's little reason to put it on anything in the first place.

I keep a 2nd DVD drive from my DVD-RW because I'm often too lazy to keep putting discs away if I'm using them.

I have 2 DVD burners because they are almost free anyway and I can copy a disk and go away without having to come back to insert the blank. Guess I am pretty lazy, also. :)

Looks good to me.
