Just upgraded to a 22" widescreen Samsung with 1680x1050 res and 2ms refresh rate. Chose the 1680x1050 in my video settings.
Get the top and bottom cropping that everyone mentioned, no biggie. The resolution and screen refresh are worth it.
The only thing I don't like is the comm window. The text there is now blocky looking, the text is fat with big jagged edges. Is this normal?
Other text outside of the comm window looks fine.
I took a screen shot but can't figure out how to upload it.

I have the same monitor with the same issue. Every one that I've asked about it has said it's normal, just irritating. Took me a month to get used to it, now I don't notice it much.

Might just be that you've got such high resolution and such large screen size that you're noticing it more. I look at my in-game text and see the same thing. I'm at 1280x1024 on a 19" LCD monitor (max res) and I can tell that the text is not anti-aliased.
Try reducing your text size in the options and maybe you won't notice it as much? (insert shrugging emoticon here)

I've tried everything I can think of, both within the AH program and my video card software. Doesn't seem to be any fix.
Not a real big deal, it's readable, just doesn't look "clean". I think it's something HiTech would have to fix.

I have the 226BW too and AH text looks like you described. It's like low resolution font but displayed at large size. I don't think this is a 'problem' that has to be fixed. Minor beauty glitch.

I have a 226bw as well... I dont notice a difference between the text on it and my old crt?

Ah, yea. I was expecting you guys were complaining about some worse than that screenshot. Looks like what mine does and I run the same res.. I wish I could customine my radio bar a bit more, as in change the font size etc., but I'll live.
