Title: does size matter
Post by: SPKmes on December 19, 2007, 04:07:27 PM
when it comes to the collision situation does the type of PC gear you own possibly affect your chances of coming out on top as when I get rammed ( i do try to get clear) I never come out best. This isn't a winge , just a query really. I'm sure that one particular 'full circle spy' Should have lost a prop and fallen last night:) .

yes...   :)

Human males have the largest ahem...compared to primates.

Human females have the largest breasts pre-pregnancy I think too.

So size probably mattered in survival of the ... fittest ...

That goes for p47 pilots too...they do tend to survive :)

If you "see" a collision on YOUR computer you take damage.... period

If some one collides with you, but you don't "see" it on YOUR computer they take damage.....period.

thats not fully true. not doubting you bro. but there has been plenty of times i have been rammed from underneath my bombers and i still take damage and the other fighter flys away. i am sure he didnt mean to ram my bombers nor does he cheat. it just happens. sometimes it works out in my favor.

sometimes i have Planes ram my gvs and fly away. so i cant sit here and say the ram thing is 100% effective

Your problem is you are not differentiating.

If "I have been rammed" means that you only got a "You have collided message" it's perfectly logical that only you take damage - on his FE there never was a collision.

If  "I have been rammed" means that you only got the "XXX has collided with you" message you just have been shot. Enemy fighters do tend to shoot when getting so close to bombers. The collision on his FE will only damage him, but keep in mind that he just may have barely touched you, resulting in maybe a lost flap or eleveator.

Same deal. You have to closely watch at the system messages. "You have collided" = collision on your FE. "XXX has collided with you" = collision on his FE.

Best explanation of the collision model ever posted.

Tangle's external from his front end the moment of impact.

Same basic angle external, tangle's view from my front end moment of impact.

How would you feel taking damage looking at your film and seeing tangles front end view, hmmmmmm?

I know I'd be pretty POed.

Thats why the "see" was in quotes like that. you don't have to "figuratively" see the collision, but if the collision happens on your computer, you have collided.

All you have to understand about collisions is you are flying in your own world on your computer. What happens there is what happens in your fight. If you collide with an object, you take damage, if you avoid it you don't, thats it. What happens on the other guys computer is HIS problem, don't worry about it.

Due to the internet lags, this is the best system, and the fairest system that you can have.

Looking at that model that is something that happen to me, I got my aas sawn off by the prop then he climbed over the cockpit add wiped the aas of his plane with it. wish I was filming at the time.
