Not seein' it (though the song's not a new one). Make the comparisons then back them with cause and effect (feel free to project but projection of Bush's potential accomplishments aren't a given, especially seeing how many are already hedging where they'll place blame). You may fire when ready, Gridley. :)

15 minutes and one response, to be precise. Wasn't your contribution that did it. And I could see it coming. Bush hate has nothing on Carter hate, from my observation. *ShruG*
Nothing unusual. Par for the course. :)

I don't know how old you are Arlo but I remember painfully well how a president I voted for let a third world country like Iran hold us hostage for 444 days.

And got them released. Even Reagan gave him props for doing so. BTW, couldn'ta been any political manipulation involved, eh? Anyhow ... dig a bit deeper. Go that old gas price route, while you're at it. Gas prices are so fantastic now I'm dancing in the street (saves gas). Maybe throw in the "misery index ... proof." Carter had to have been less popular than Bush. :)
(- voted 1980 .... Carter - wasn't fooled by the media hype - understands diplomacy better than the average neocon - and yes, sorry, Reagan already seemed a bit ... mentally disconnected .... )

Carter does not want to go quietly into the night. Most of us were willing to let him fade into obscurity but no, he wasn't satisfied in letting Clinton bear the ire of conservatives. He has to continually open his mouth and prove to everyone that when you eat too many peanuts you get peanut brain.
-
And speaking out against following administrations and their incompetence regarding matters negatively affecting the nation is such an unacceptable practice. We should all stand shoulder to shoulder and shout him to death. ;) :aok

Truth is I was sorely disappointed in Carter but still thought of him as a good person. Until the last few years that is since he's gone of the deep end and imagines himself as somehow politically relevant, right up there with the likes of Sean Penn.

It's not like he was ever POTUS or anything and ... well, Nancy, Reagan was a better actor than Sean. I'm not as good as Laz at seeing deeply into your soul and knowing exactly what color it is, and all, but I do suspect your biggest problem with Carter is he said something bad about Bush. Just sayin'.

My biggest problem with Carter is as I said before, he failed miserably as president. If for no other reason than this he should keep mouth shut. Of course he won't and it is (until Hillary gets in office) still a free country.

Mmmmok. Mmmmmwhatever. You've ... ummm ... made your point. As concisely as you could. And to think. Someone almost got away with making Carter look good here. ;)

player 2 : i hoed you because you were about to beat me, why would i let you beat me?

7. "I'm not going to get into a name-calling match with somebody (Vice President Dick Cheney) who has a 9 percent approval rating." -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Democrat.
I wonder what percentage he needs... after all Congress is hovering about 20 to 25% approval...

Carter didn't "persuade" the Iranians to release our diplomats until it became apparent that Ronald "I'll bomb them back to the Stone Age" Reagan would be the next president.
Could Carter have scored such a success without the not-so-subtle threat from Reagan? Possibly...but he had precious little success in that regard until the fall of '79.

Ahhh...I see the screw-up fairy has visited us again...
I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.
I see you've set aside this special time to humiliate yourself in public.
I'll try being nicer if you'll try being smarter.
It resembles English, but I can't understand a word you're typing.
I can see your point, but I still think you're full of it.
I'm already visualizing the duct tape all over your keyboard.
I will always cherish the initial misconceptions I had about you.
Thank you. We're all refreshed and challenged by your unique point of view though few of us would dare try to stick our heads up our rears.
The fact that no one understands you doesn't mean you're misunderstood.
Any connection between your reality and reality is purely coincidental.
What am I? Flypaper for extremists!?
And your cry baby whiny-butt opinion would be...?
Sarcasm is just one more gratuity I offer.
I'm trying to imagine you with a personality.
Too many freaks, not enough circuses.
Credit anon.
