Title: Lancaster Load Out
Post by: raider73 on December 20, 2007, 01:21:47 PM
OK i was watching Top 10 bombers and the Lancaster was # 5 but it said it a had a big boy bomb. It was a 20,000lb bomb. There were 10,000lb bombs 2 on the Lancaster. Also 5,000 lb bombs. Why can't we get these load outs.

If they were available, they would most certainly have to be perked(alot).  Those thinks would be one shot town killers.

Im pretty sure that this forum is owned by HiTech. Unless you know something I dont.

BTW, HT has come right out and said that there will be NO bombs bigger than the 4000lb bomb we have for the Lancaster (and the Ju87)

The Grand Slam and Tall Boy were used once or twice on bridges and submarine pens. It was far from a common loadout and the Lancasters had to be modified to carry them.

Shut up Pacman. Your nothing but a whiner in game. I killed your M3 AFTER you take a base and you whine, consistently.

Grow up, spell, use grammar, and go work at McDonalds. I hear they are looking for 14 year old football jocks that don't play soccer and are really buff to work in China. Might be a perfect fit for you.

Good luck Captain America!

1) Lancaster had to modified.  Correct.
2) Far from common loadout.  Correct.
3) Only dropped once or twice.  Incorrect.

If I recall correctly, 44 Grand Slams were dropped and over 200 Tall Boys.

Then don't post a thread asking for opinions only to dismiss them like a little twit.

While you're at it, learn how to use the search function on these forums.  If you had, you would have seen the numerous thread about this very subject along with HiTech's reply that a largest bomb option won't exceed 4,000 pounds.

I  quite disagree, this seems to be a pointless addition to AHII, it would be too easy for taking down towns and hangers. the 4k bomb is a one shot wonder for hangers, and a 10k or 20k would just be used to take out towns, it wouldn't keep a balance in AHII. :noid

http://www.vectorsite.net/twbomb_01.html

Scroll down this page to the "Big Bombs of WW2" section.

The 12,000lb High Capacity Cookie would be the best in AH i think, and could be dropped by an unmodified lanc (the bomb was 3 x 4k bomb segments bolted together, basically the most explosive fitted into the lightest container).  It would annihilate strat/town targets.

Somewhere around that number, which incidently makes the Tallboy more common than some of our aircraft.
Possibly the Grandslam also. (Ultra rare version of the 110 we have?)

Agreed with furball, Lancasters in this game can only carry one 4,000 Pound egg.

Oh good, we have another one now.  It is always good to have redundancy, just in case one "expert" gets sent to his room without dinner.

This reminds me of when that guy kept saying the P-47 was under modeled and based his info off the History channel.  I think WideWing gave him a talking to about what document sources were.

i have a book that sows all the britis bombs used in ww2 they range from a 40IB to 22,000IB
the 40 was only useful on damageing runways
