for me its the 190a8. I love and hate this plane. it is a complete POS in every respect of maneuverability except roll and dive. but its firepower is awsome. when you kill someone with it there is no question that they deserved to die :D

K4 or F6F, like em both, and still can't decide which one to learn as my 'new' plane.

I'd say something, but it would just get misconstrued.

I've been away from AH for just about 4 months in jan. ( Hopeing to get back on before new years )
But my ride of choice was my good ol:
1. YAK-9U. Baby is the ultimate mid range, low, mid, high alt fighter. And since i'm a crack shot, i make the limited ammo loadout with 4-5 kills a sortie.
She handles like a dream, as fast as a LA-7 and turns like a spitfire, and as nimble as a 190-A5

I try to pick a different plane each month to fly for most of month...but I always go back to the K4. Just fits the way I fly.
-
I can't go wrong with a F4F Wildcat (NOT the FM2 or F6F) Dunno why I like it so much, it sucks fuel like no tomorrow but, still love it.
But... I also very much enjoy flying the P-51 Mustang, P-38 Lightning, the F4U-1D and the B24 Liberater.
-
Ive been flying 109k4 or 109 series entire tour and have to say, dispite its good or bads, its all around an amazing plane. Fact it was designed in mid 30's and can compete with a P51 or Spitfire with its upgraded engines and firepower, sticks out.
190 series are just brutal planes to fly as well, Yeah you cant turn with a spit, but imagine getting the spit in your gunsight. where he has 240 rounds to hope to land hits, you can easily get 500 or 800 in different FW series.
Oddball planes I flew this tour: Spitfire 1, La7
Im competitive so I like to evaluate alot of planes, I started flying an La7 for one week this tour and my honest opinion is right about it, if your a decent stick, move on to a harder plane to fly. Simply to easy to fly makes game boring.
Spitfire I however... Longest fight I ever had so far was an La7 trying to boom-zoom me for 10 minutes because im doing 200 and him 400.
Made me work for the kill and sure enough, it paid off when La7 made a mistake.
Im not saying im that good I can kill everyone in a spit 1 but it proved my skill level is far enough ahead I dont need to rely on an La7 for kills.

I think I'll change it up this month and fly the 190-d9 almost every sortie, what do you guys think?
-
I think there are lots of fun planes..why stick to one? :D
-
The A8 is pure pain. No doubt it is the sinle hardest plane to fly well in the MA short of being a total *****. If you can get down and dirty in it and still win, you might just have some skill.
-
P38G cause I'm stubborn :)
-
205, not much saddling up, but pretty good snapshots.
-
My modified clog lobbing K4, it just fits me like a tight leather glove :D

Speaking of 190A-8s.. Last evening I was RTB in a Ta 152. I was low on ammo, with just 32 20mm rounds remaining. I spot a 190 deep into our territory and figure I'll use up the last ammo. I swing in behind and the pilot stick-stirs like mad. I land a few hits and go vertical. 12 rounds left. I attack again. A few more hits, knocking off his rudder and a flap. No ammo left, so I head for the nearest field. The 190A-8 pilot decides to follow... I over-fly the base at 4k and the 190 does the same, but the ack blasts the snot out of him and down he goes. I landed and rearmed.
Some guys are completely devoid of common sense.

This month for me:
Bf 109 G14
Ta 152 H1
Gustav for getting down and really dirty....
152 for something different and busting up everything else at 30k

Been attempting to learn the P38J this past month. It's fun but in a furball everyone guns for you and its easy to get ganged. If my gunnery is on I've easily landed 4 or 5 at a time. I like that if you try to dive too fast it'll lock up, discourages picking like an alt monkey. The 4 nose mounted mgs can saw parts off and when close enough the 20mm will do some hurting.
Having an extra engine is fun since I can still get away and land after the inevitable radiator or oil hit.
Just wish the pw's were so common, seeing blood on the canopy gets old
For the past while before that I was flying the ki84 almost exclusively, its very fun.
Next I think I'll try to go back to the 109s or maybe the 190a5 for a tour or two.
-
Best way to accurately learn a plane is to fly it for an entire tour, i've noticed alot of pilots say they are learning a "190a5" then after getting shot down twice you see them in La7's. Don't be discouraged, those 5 eny planes are for those who can't stand a challange and like things easy.
152 is a good choice too, good high alt bird, Im not a fan of the 152 though mainly dont get around to 25k to fight effective in it. Rather the D9 under 17k or A5 or A8 above 5k
What makes 190a8 so much fun is the 30mm gun package and La7's that love to ho.
Landed 11 kills this morning, 10 were hoing La7's
god bless them a merry xmas for giving me 84 perks :D

Bf109G-14
Bf109G-2

A6M5b
Spit9
109G14 a little
I haven't played that much AH, but for historical reasons (history being past experience in WB), I like the Zero. Some of my best (and worst) sorties are in the Zero. I like the middle Spitfire too. I'm much more successful in the Spit. I am warming up to the 109G14 with 108, but I still fly it timidly and I need to work on my gunnery.

I have been loving the F4U1D. It`s been around since AH1 but never really cared for it till now can`t get out of the darn thing:t
