Post by: DEAR98 on December 23, 2007, 12:56:00 PM
well i mean like a plane that you like a lot but it just got 3 small mgs
then you chould throw then out and put in heavey mg and 1 cannon
or make it like you dont got as much a fule as you need even with drop
tanks so you put two more on or pack more rckts or ammo sound good?

They try to keep the plane historic, so no I don't think they will change things like throw a big cannon on a plane that only came with 3 small caliber machine guns.

Sure, get me a dremmel, let me change out my wings and all that other good stuff :)

The Canon guns wouldn't fit into the MG's holes, so, if your willing to blow off chunks of your wing, sure :)

Although, going with the fuel thing, I'd enjoy the ability to NOT fill certain tanks, like, take 25% fuel in only 2 tanks in a buff or something, cause I rarely need 125 minutes of fly time
:aok

Paraphrased: He wants to be able to Modify his plane so he can make it "better"

unfortunately he doesnt se that swapping 3 of my Lancs engines for a 8'' gun is sorta umm... erm... dumb.

also, can someone PLEASE lock up the mice, im tired of hearing squeaking...

Not satisfied with the L(ghey)a-7 ? Go dogfight in a Stuka :D . I really don't see why we would want to change it so all planes can be equiped with four hispano 20mm cannons, or even worse, four 30mm's!

Dude like you don't know about the power ups in the game??? You have to go to a large enemy airfield that is fully operational and then fly through all of the plane hangers upside down at least once. Don't worry about the VH, that one isn't needed. Once you do that you have to fly back to your base you launched from and go to the re-arm pad at the end of the runway you took off from. Once there shut down and after the 30 second refuel, you'll get an "upgrade" menu that lets you modify your plane.

It's hard to do because you have to dodge all the ack at the enemy field but if you make it there are some cool upgrades:D

don't tell him the order you have to fly thru' the hangers.

took me almost a year to figure that one out.

you will hear a "ding" sound when/if you get it right.

(And stop givin' out the hidden "Secrets" of the game.  let the new players figure 'em out on their own)

Felt like a troll to me...

I guess I have more faith in humanity... I don't actually believe anyone is THAT dumb... Therefore it was a troll.

I finally completed the task today after many tries. I didnt hear a ding either, but once I re-armed my screen froze a second, then the menu popped up. I was able to keep my P40E with 20mms alive for 4 missions, but then had to log.

As I feared there is no way to save the modified plane and I'd have to do it all over again to get the menu up again. Alot of work. But pretty cool.
